Is Your Cat a Dragon? Chinese Astrology Explained and other fun.

Is your cat a dragon

On February 9, 2024 we enter the year of the Dragon. Happy Chinese New Year! Today, I’m answering the question: Is your cat a dragon?

I’ve studied feng shui and followed the tenets of Chinese astrology for decades. While this post is tongue in cheek, I believe astrology can decode personality traits in both humans and pets.

It’s fascinating to see how mainstream and secular feng shui and the Chinese New Year has evolved in recent years.

It’s an in-depth and complicated topic but this is my very simple explanation of Chinese Astrology.

Chinese astrology, rooted in the lunar calendar, assigns each year to one of the 12 zodiac animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Your zodiac sign depends on your birth year. Each animal is associated with certain personality traits and characteristics. Additionally, the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) further influence the zodiac, creating a 60-year cycle.

For instance we have a Dragon year every 12 years but we haven’t been in wood dragon year for 60 years.

Chinese astrology offers insights into one’s destiny, relationships, and compatibility based on these zodiac and elemental influences. People celebrate their Chinese zodiac year and believe it impacts their life path.

There are 12 Animal Zodiac signs in Chinese astrology: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat (or Sheep), Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

Find your Chinese astrology sign and element. Once you know it, there are lots of resources online to learn more. What’s your sign?

In the mystical realm of Chinese astrology, where celestial creatures dance among the stars, a special feline magic are the lucky dragons.

And now let’s unravel the ancient secrets of cats born in 2012 and kittens born in 2024—for they are no ordinary whiskered beings. Oh no! they are dragons in disguise! 🐉

1. The Cat-Dragon (2012)

Our story begins in the year of the Dragon, when the heavens bestowed their fiery breath upon unsuspecting feline mothers. These cats, born under the celestial sign of the Dragon, carry within them the essence of ancient emperors and mythical beasts. They are considered very lucky.

Here’s what makes them truly extraordinary:

•Energetic and Warm-Hearted: These cat-dragons are like caffeinated sunbeams. They bounce off walls, chase imaginary mice, and leave a trail of cosmic sparkles wherever they go. Their hearts burn with passion, and their purrs could ignite a thousand candles.

•Charismatic and Lucky in Love: Cat-dragons are the life of the celestial party. They strut their stuff, tails held high, and attract admirers like moths to a cosmic flame. Their love lives? Oh, they’re swimming in a sea of admirers, each vying for a chance to bask in their fiery glow. Be sure to spay/neuter early!

Natural Born Leaders: These regal felines don’t just rule the cardboard castle—they command it! Cat-dragons are excellent at giving orders (especially during mealtime) and ensuring their subjects (read: humans) follow their every decree.

•Egotistic, but Endearingly So: Yes, they know they’re special. They flaunt their cosmic stripes and demand the choicest sunspots. But we forgive them, for their egotism is as charming as a moonlit night.

2. The Kitten-Dragon (2024)

Fast-forward to the year of the Wood Dragon, when kittens with stardust in their fur emerged. These little fluff balls, born under the sign of the Dragon, harbor hidden flames within their tiny paws and destined to be social media darlings.

•Charming and Ambitious: Kitten-dragons are the diplomats of the cat world. They negotiate treaties with the neighbor’s dog, broker peace during midnight zoomies, and dream of conquering the highest bookshelf. Their ambition knows no bounds.

•Confident and Fearless: These kittens leap before they look. They scale curtains, tightrope-walk along banisters, and believe that gravity is merely a suggestion. Fear? Bah! They scoff at it, then chase it up a tree.

•Awesome Leaders in Training: Watch them organize their toy mice into battle formations. Kitten-dragons are destined for greatness. They’ll lead their fellow felines to victory, one laser pointer at a time.

On a serious note: All kittens born from Feb. 9, 2024 to January 28, 2025 will be dragons and specifically wood dragons. Expect to see an amazing population of smart, confident, charming, majestic and sociable kitties. Let’s hope they have all the luck getting adopted!

Of course their environment and human interactions will allow their innate personality to bloom or wither.

So, dear readers, next time you see a cat born in 2012 or a kitten born in 2024, remember: beneath those whiskers lies a dragon’s heart. They are cosmic firecrackers, celestial charmers, and rulers of cardboard realms. Treat them well, for they are the stuff of legends—the purrfect blend of fur and fire.

And who knows? Perhaps they’ll share their secrets of star-chasing and moonbeam surfing. Just be prepared for a regal stare and a whisker-twitch that says, “Bow before the Dragon!” 🐾✨
