Merlin The Cat Turns 19!

We’re in the mood to celebrate! October is Merlin’s favorite month because it’s his birthday and this year it’s a BIG one. With 19 candles, he’ll need a whole kitty crew to help blow them out! Care to help?

Before we begin, we have news and lots of giveaway winners and bonus extras. With so many winners, we’ll be contacting you this week via email, so look for one from Layla from info@catwisdom101, ‘kay? We’ve been beyond crazy busy and need to take the next few days off to meet other writing deadlines and cat consults. Look for an eye-opening guest post tomorrow. Our good friend Sammy from One Spoiled Cat sent his birthday wishes…

Merlin’s friend Nellie, a fellow Siamese and Canadian, sent the purrfect card for our Libra boy. His birthday wish is for a big smoochie from her. That and world peace.

Now that my old boy is a senior senior kitty, I’m feeling nostalgic. It was love at first sight when we met. The photo (below) was taken just before we met, by the woman who could no longer take care for him. Those wise eyes seemed to know his destiny lay elsewhere. How could anyone resist those huge, blue eyes? I know I couldn’t.siamese-kitten-merlin

He’s always had a remarkable sense of timing and he and his sister, Angel Coco, arrived at their forever home the day before their birthday. Siamese cats are snowy white as kittens, their coats growing darker as the years go by. And the years have drifted by at alarming speed. When I find myself lamenting the past, Merlin keeps me, with his infinite wisdom, grounded in the here and now. Thank-you dear friends for being here now.

Merlin I’m so happy that you are here for the 19th year of what I hope is a WAY LONGER life…..your baby picture is so beautiful – you were super handsome as a little guy and are a most handsome and wise guy to this day.
