Irish Cats Bring St. Patrick’s Day Luck by Layla Morgan Wilde
They say everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and that includes cats. If we’ve ever needed some extra Irish luck, it would be this year. It felt frivolous featuring cat in silly costumes given the state of the world but then I heard about Buddha. This post is dedicated to Buddha, a special black cat who is featured in my book Black Cats Tell All.
His story is one of my favorites and St. Patrick’s Day happens to be his birthday. This year the dear Buddha boy turns 12 and he could use some of that famous lucky black cat luck himself. Last year he had a tumor removed on his mouth and the cancer has returned. We would love some positive thoughts, prayers, purrs sent to him on his Furball Fables Facebook page .
Our friend Chase Holiday, his cat mom is worried about his vet bills. It’s been a tough year for Chase and any help would be a godsend. She has cool cat things at her ETSY SHOP and donations can be sent to her PayPal donation page
Every year since this blog started in 2011, I’ve created or curated a new collection of cute, funny, weird, vintage, you name it, cards and photos of cats celebrating St. Catrick’s Day with Lucky Black Cats a perennial favorite. Of course my cats would have their say especially Odin…
Did you know March 17th is also the feast day of St. Gertrude, the Patron Saint of Cats?
My favorite cat quote and Irish proverb is: Beware of people who dislike cats. And may I add: black cats.
This is my new “vintage” collection which I hope brings smiles and purrfect LUCK. My thoughts are still very much on the cats and other animals in Ukraine (see my post) and I am continuing donating all proceeds from sales from my MEOW MAGIC Shop to IFAW
This year I went all vintage but I edited in new elements and improved the resolution.
Not sure why a Victorian chimney sweep is lucky but he’s cute so…
Double Luck? Yes, please!
As I was working on this, I was reminded how our beloved Angel cats keep supporting us from above. They are always near us, we just need to remember and call them.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day and St. Gertrude’s Day. May it bring you peace, love and mountains of LUCK!
