You Need More Sleep and Grumpy Cat Giveaway From Chronicle Books

We’re making our list and checking it twice. No, not Santa’s list but our annual Top 10 Cat Books.  We have such a back log of books, it’s to scramble to catch up with potential entries, so we’ll be sharing a number of books over the next 10 days.  And we’re having a of a Grumpy Cat + Giveaway of assorted books from Chronicle Books this week. To enter simply leave a comment at this post before 11:59 pm ET, Nov.22, 2015.

FTC disclaimer: We received review copies and merchandise from Chronicles Book which did not influence our views.

We’ve enjoyed another stellar year for cat books, both fiction and non-fiction. One of favorite publishers is Chronicle Books. The San Francisco-based publisher has two huge, New York Times best-selling authors. One is human, the other is feline and the cat happens to have more Facebook (8.2 million) and Instagram followers (1 million) than the human, Francesco Marciuliano. This of course comes as no surprise as the famous feline is Grumpy Cat who has a new book (her third) Grumpy Cat: No-It-All: Everything You Need to No. I predict it will be found in many Christmas stockings this year. It’s the same size and heavily illustrated Hard cover format as her previous two books. Expect more NOnsense and irresistible grumpilicious fun to put a smile on a most Scrooge-like person’s face.

The queen of feline memes is famous for saying no, but it’s actually sound advice as we head into frantic holiday season mode. At the back of the book is a bonus page of NO-themed stickers and I’ve already stuck some on my digital device to remind me no is not a four-letter word. The grumpy gal is an equal-opportunity holiday sour puss.  I dare you to keep a straight face for Mother’s Day pic.

Our very own grumpy gal Nou Nou is our most reluctant and newest book reviewer (and no it all) says, “NO, NO, NO and yes to more sleep. Francesco Marciuliano best known for his pet poetry books (love these foreign editions) like I Could Pee on This and I Could Chew on This has branched out into cat advice with his latest, You Need More Sleep: Advice from Cats.gosh darn it, he’s done it again.  Purrfectly fun, funny and intelligent: just like cats. Listen up humans, the man knows our kitty secrets! I give both book a 4 Paw rating and an extra 1/2 star to the guy with the name no one can spell or pronounce, just because these kinds of insights.”

  1. Clove is our resident sometimes Grumpy Cat gal and says she totally applauds Nou Nou’s book reviews. Why should one do something they’re asked if they don’t feel like it?! Why do humans always pick one of our 15 nap times of the day to need our opinion/help/rescue/instruction?! (Are just a few of her irritated questions.)

  2. My two kitties are currently taking one in a series of daily naps as I type. I would love to read these two books.

  3. Trinity and Cocoa said I should opt for “You need more sleep,” since I am up until about 4 AM every night catching up on what didn’t get done the day(s) before, and it will get worse as the holidays approach. God bless Merlin.

  4. I would love to read these books. Love Grumpy cat and I could always use more sleep, so maybe can learn to get more sleep from the cats. Thank for the giveaway.

  5. I love Grumpy Cat ( who doesn’t ? ). I have her other 2 books and I have I Could Pee on This Too. It is nice that there are so many cat books available now.

  6. FANTASTIC books! You Need More Sleep and Grumpy Cat No It All both sound like very lively and entertaining reads!!!
    Thanks for sharing!!!

Skeeter and Izzy and the Feral Gang + Twig & Peanut & Romeo and the Angels |>^..^^..^<~

  7. Both books seem so fav.

I asked Mao about these, and he said, “Maoooo” Translation: “No.”

But “No” means “Yes” in Mao-speak.

    I asked Ched, too.

Ched said: Well, he didn’t say anything.

He started a deep purr and started milk-treading, which means he loves anything I do as long as it’s all about him.

  8. that’s a hard decision… more sleep is cool and grumpy is cool too….but nevertheless, if Grumpy had a canine twin it probably would be a Weimaraner… so Grumpy is my hero :o)

  9. I am a big proponent of numerous catnaps. I would love to curl up with my purr-kids and read these good books.
