Who’s Who In the Pet Products World & The Great Catsby
What a wild week! My post on Thursday about Lux the cat created fur to fly on Facebook, but I stand by what I wrote. Thank-you for commenting from the heart.
I zipped into NYC to guest lecture at the FIT for a course titled: Who’s Who in the Pet Products World: Makers, Shakers and Social Media. You know the pet industry is hot when one of the most prestigious fashion colleges has an entire program on pet product design and marketing. I was invited by Dana Humphrey, a mover and shaker in the pet PR world. She teaches two of the courses and is owner of Whitegate PR
It was a lot of fun interacting with pet-loving students and I realized how much I missed teaching. I love consulting one-on-one but impacting a larger audience at once is something I’ll be exploring down the road. Our selection is a playful riff on the classic Great Gatsby cover. I did a double exposure and editing tricks with an old image of dear, departed Gris Gris as the Great Catsby. I sometimes feel him shifting between worlds to keep an eye on me and the boys. I’m seriously behind other work and won’t be blogging tomorrow. You are such a striking lady who knows her mind, what she’s wants and how to get it. Way to go. TW used to know how to do double exposures in her old analog camera by rewinding the film. Now PhotoShop makes it so much easier. Love that image.

We always speak from the heart when it concerns animals and their welfare.
Sadly for each of us that truly love them and try to do all we can to protect,love,care for,and save them there are at least 5 that wish to destroy,hurt,starve,abuse and kill them. We must continue to fight every second of every day!

Oh! I am so jealous! At one point in my life I was on my way to earning my masters to become a college professor! I love teaching and am so thrilled for your opportunity!
As far as Lux, I have refrained from the fray, but do believe that the cat needs to be re-homed at this point. The story has become far too sensational and Lux is suffering as a result of it. If there needs to be a TV show about it, it needs to be a general show about raising children with pets – kind of a raising kids with pets 101 that gives basic information and facts to help avoid situations such as the one Lux was in. And as an FYI, kicking an animal is never appropriate.
