The hilarious Angie Bailey’s latest book Texts From Mittens will be released on March 31 and you can win a copy here. I met Angie at a CWA (Cat Writers Association) conference four years ago and I’m so proud of her success. She’s naturally funny, quirky and a down-to-earth friend you just want to root for. Like many bloggers, she launched her humor blog Catladyland as a platform for writing books. Her funny first book and follow-up calendar Whiskerslist:The Kitty Classifieds (think Craigslist for cats by cats) hit a collective funny bone but she ups the ante with Text From Mittens:A Cat Who has an Unlimited Data Plan and Isn’t Afraid to Use it.

The concept is simple: what if cats could text. Angie hatched the idea on Catster, one thing led to another and voila a book with a zany feline cast of characters. There’s Mittens, the snarky tuxie kitty, her hapless human, Stumpy the BFF (best feline friend), Phil the dog, a tolerant granny and an interfering neighbor simply named Drunk Patty. A silly stew results when a cat who isn’t afraid to text what’s on her mind and let it rip.

Merlin, our feline reviewer gasped audibly in parts. Granted, he’s 20 and not quite up to speed with social media. Our younger feline reviewer Domino couldn’t get enough and has now demanded his own cell phone.

They have granted our highest rating of 4 Paws to Texts From Mittens but feel it should come with a warning: Do NOT read this to your cat. It may provoke feline anarchy and global uprising, not to mention overage charges. Visit Texts From Mittens for the latest texts and news about the book.

March 22 happens to be #WorldWaterDay, a global event close to my heart. If you want to know why Domino is draped on that rainbow-hued scarf, visit our other blog Boomer Muse
