Outsmarting Cats Review and Giveaway
One of the first books we reviewed at Cat Wisdom 101 was Outwitting Cats by fellow Cat Writers’ Association member Wendy Christensen. Originally published in 2004, the book has been revised and recently released as Outsmarting Cats: How to Persuade the Feline in Your Life to Do What You Want. Brimming with practical advice on all things cat, Outsmarting Cats is a valuable resource for any cat lover. The wide range of content from a scientific and not a holistic perspective with a new easy to read formatting makes it indispensable. New additions include:cat fostering,TNR, kitty Alzheimers, kitty cams, feline hoarders, how cats use their tongues to drink and tips on using social media to help cats. The expanded resource index is useful. Photos and illustrations of Wendy’s ten cats gives it a personal touch. My only beef is this handy cat guide isn’t in hardcover.
Merlin is not convinced that cats can be outsmarted but feels the more information about cats at our fingertips (or paws) the better. Wendy is also a talented artist, illustrator and jewelry designer. Visit her at Wendy Christensen

Clearly this book should be required reading for me, because lately my cat has been outsmarting me. :-/

I agree with Merlin and don’t believe cats can be outsmarted but I would like to inspect this book to see how Miss Wendy thinks a human can do this! MOL!

This sounds like a helpful book although I think my two kitties have me outsmarted. They are the royalty and my husband and I are their subjects. They are named Princess and Queenie. 🙂 I have shared on Pinterest in the cats album, on Twitter and on Facebooik.

Ooooh! A guild to outsmarting cats. I’d love a copy but I probably should check with management first to see if they approve. I’m in luck! They are both asleep.

First I would hide the book from Scooter. Wart really doesn’t care too much because he is such a good boy. Merlin may be right, but it sure would be fun to read the book anyway. Sounds terrific!
Cathy Keisha
NO WAY can cats be outsmarted by dumb-witted humans. That book is terrorist propaganda!
Emmy Hargreaves
With 9 cats to outsmart I feel I really need this book!!! Hopefully all their quirks and foibles will be covered.
Lauren

What a great book for me and Ginger (my cat, who is calico, not ginger). I have a couple ideas of my own that I use, and it sure would be interesting if those are Wendy’s ideas, too.

My kitties sit by their food bowl and meow until I feed them (wet food). As soon as I feed them, they take off. They always do that, makes me so mad. It’s like they are testing me!!!

Wow! Just finished reading Jackson Galaxy’s Cat Daddy. This looks like another great read! Can’t wait! =^..^=

WE agree with Merlin … is it even possible to outsmart cats? But this does sound like a very interesting book, and we appreciate the chance to win it. 🙂
Hugs!

Is it even possible to outsmart a cat? The way mine have me trained, I am not sure (as I type this with one hand because I am holding one in my arms currently).
Layla Morgan Wilde
Wendy, sounds familiar to many of us 🙂
Brian
That sure sounds like a great read, but I’m pretty sure Merlin in right!

I’d love to have this book. Sounds like an excellent book. I’ve tried to out smart cats for years and have not been successful. There are a few issues I have with my kitty Thomas I’d love to solve, maybe this book would help! Thanks!

No way can us cats be outsmarted! If we are, it’s because we let the humans. 🙂

See? The kitties put a hex on my attempt to post a comment. I don’t think that they want this book in the house!
Betty Smith
Not sure the kitties want me to outsmart them. They will probably hide the book if I win it!
