Kritter Kondo-think pink-cats-enclosure-pets-giveaway

Pettie Awards celebrates excellence in pet blogging today. We’re one of four finalists for the Best Cat Blog category. We’d be speechless if we won but stranger things have happened. Either way, it’ll be fun to watch the ceremony at 6PM EST at Dogtimemedia Pettie Awards Like they say, it’s an honor just to be nominated. Thanks again for all your support and for loving cats!Layla Morgan Wilde-Pettie-awards-best-cat-blog

All the winners receive checks for $1000 to donate to their favorite shelter. We’re excited to find out who will win $10,000 for the Unsung Hero Award. The winner, someone who goes the extra mile volunteering at an animal shelter, gets to donate the prize money to the shelter of their choice. Talk about win win!

We have winners of our own. Our month long “Think Pink” giveaways in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month continue. We have two winners for last week’s giveaway courtesy of Pets R Loved Congratulations Ms. Phoebe, you have won the pink t-shirt prize and to Joanna M. ,you have won the black t-shirt prize. Look for an email from Layla and Cat Wisdom 101.

The fun folks from Kritter Kondo sent us a fabulous deluxe pet enclosure like the pink one in the photo at the top of the page. Since the Cat Wisdom team testers are all mancats, they sent us a green one which we set up in the garden. We are advocates for a safe indoor/outdoor experience for cats. There is no substitute for fresh air and a touch of nature. Cats loves sniffing outdoors but you control what they sniff by where you place the Kondo.

What we like most about a large portable enclosure is flexibility. The Kritter Kondo comes packed flat in its own zippered “suitcase” and is unfolded in a snap. The awning type roof provides some protection from the sun. There are two doors that swing out and close securely with a latch. There is room enough for a bed, food & water bowls, toys and a small kitty litter.

Merlin checked it out and as a blind cat cannot be left outdoors unsupervised. While the kondo is sturdy nylon mesh, we don’t recommend leaving any pet alone in it for extended time. It can easily house two to three cats or small dogs for limited periods of time.

We love the many possibilities both indoors and outdoors.

  • Indoors, it can be used when pets need to be separated temporarily or when introducing pets to a new kitty family member. One end can remain open to another room to increase roaming space.
  • When moving, decorating or any time you need to your cat separate and can’t lock them in another room.
  • For cat rescue adoption days. Much handier than big metal crates.
  • Use on apartment balconies to prevent jumping on ledges.
  • While traveling or RVing.
  • Outdoors in a supervised location like your porch, patio or garden.

To learn more about the variety of Kritter Kondos and their possibilities visit Kritter Kommunity. One lucky Cat Wisdom 101 reader will win a Deluxe Pink Kritter Kondo valued at $175.00. To enter this giveaway simply leave one comment at this post anytime before 11:59 PM EST October 25. The winner will be announced October 26. Good luck!

I am really loving the theme/design of your site. Do you ever face any web browser interface troubles? A number of my blog audience have complained concerning my canon printer installation online site not operating properly in Internet Explorer though looks awesome in Firefox. Are there any kind of solutions to aid fix that problem?

Found a lump on my cat and was very happy to come across your website. It gives me an idea on what needs to be done.

  • Nancy

I came across this site while researching feline breast cancer. My Caroline has four large breast lumps with one that has previously drained. The prognosis from my Vet is one that I was not ready to hear. Carolyn is eleven years old and has been spayed at an early age. She has always been up to date on her shots, so I am at a loss as to why this has happened.

Could you enter us in this one too? It looks like a great way to great some fresh air outside. Our mom doesn’t like our going out. There are coyotes (believe it or not!) and one of her kitties was hit by a car a few years ago, so we suffer the consequences.

  • Angela Robison

Wow this kitty condo would be perfect for my cat, Zoe. I just had to move from a house to an apartment and I have a front porch, but right now I cannot let her out on it because the openings at the bottom are too wide for her to get through. Or she could jump up on the ledge and get out. This would be perfect for her to be able to get outside and get some fresh air and to just enjoy being outside with me every once in awhile.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter for this amazing prize!! 🙂

Thank you for the opportunity to enter the competition. I have been looking for something like this for a long time, one of our cats is almost 17 years old, he loves to roll on the back lawn but with 2 dogs it is getting too dangerous for him as they like to play with him and I am afraid he will get rolled on and hurt by one of the dogs. This Kondo would be ideal as he would be able to be a part of the playing but not be in any danger. Once again, thank you for the opportunity to enter the competition.

  • Christie R

What a cool idea! My cat loves to sit in the window and watch the dogs go outside. If she had this, she could join them and I wouldn’t have to worry about her getting out of the backyard! Thanks for the giveaway!

  • HollyAnne

I would adore this to enrich my boys’ lives. I think they are secure enough they could deal with the pink 🙂 They would just love to be able to be outside and feel the grass and smell the autumn smells and hear the birds.

  • Amy Bealer

One of my best friends does fostering in her home, and this would be purr-fect to win for her, to help our feline friends…so if I win, I will be paying it forward!

  • celina k

My cats would love this so much!! They spend all day looking out windows..it would be amazing to let them experience it safely. Thanks for the great giveaway 🙂

  • anne

WE finally just got a house with a yard for the kitties to explore but they have been indoor cats and I don’t trust letting them out now. This would be the perfect compromise!

  • Robert B

This is such a cool item! My kitties (all of ’em) keep wanting to go outside, but are strictly insiders. This would be a win-win!!

  • paula

My kitty would be in kitty heaven with this condo. I rescued her a little over a year ago from a feral cat who had a litter. Being born in the wild I have always hated making her stay in the house all the time. She loves it outside and does not like a leash or harness. I foster dogs and pet sit and this would be ideal in so many ways, inside and out. My kitty holds a special place in my heart as she is the result of my friend spaying and neutering feral cats and became really ill with cancer and could not spay her mom. My friend passed away when my kitty was 8 weeks old. Baby Rey would be so grateful for this kitty kondo!

  • Kelly Ann T.

I cannot let my cat out because we live in a rural area with too many coyotes and other dangerous animals. This would keep Yoshi safe and allow him outside.

  • Skeeter and Izzy

Congratulations to you for winning the Pettie Award! My babies Mollie and Louis would love to hang out in a condo. I sure hope they win one.

  • Zara

This is so cool! Please consider us for this giveaway! We live in the city, with only a tiny piece of grass outside – but if we had this, out the kitties could go during the day for an hour or two…Bird watching in style!

  • Shelba Miller

This would be sooo much easier to put in the back seat of my car for traveling than the metal one I now use to transport my 15 yr old Nikki.

  • catfromhell

What a great tent! monmmy thinks that would be purrfect for us when we goes camping. Has yous read about how me was losted in the wilds of the BC Mountains for a week – all by myself!!!
With something like that to put me in, Mommy and Daddy would not lose me (or Kozmo-even though mes would not mind if HE got losted)

  • CarenOsrinGittleman (@CatChatCaren)

Don’t enter us because we had one and gave it to our neighbor who has a Chihuahua because they had more of a need for it than we did. That being said, we LOVE the people at Kritter Kondo and know them quite well and this is a super quality product!! Whoever wins this will be thrilled!
Sorry about the Petties but there is always next year!

  • gin

Waldo would love to enjoy the outdoors, but he is elderly and now has heart disease and diabetes. He could sleep on his lambskin under the trees with his brothers and watch the squirrels play, safely in his Kritter Kondo.

  • Betsy Murphy

This is great – I love the green one! But I’d be happy with the pink one for sure! My stepmother is a breast cancer survivor, but I lost a 41 year old friend to it a few years back. I’d be proud to use the kritter kondo in her memory.

  • Jody Snyder

Wow- this is cool! My indoor cats (who are hankering to get out) could still enjoy the smell and fresh air & sun of the outdoors, and the feel of grass on their feet in a nice safe place! I love it!

  • Stormi

We hope you win the Pettie Award! That would be awesome! You do so much good for our floofy friends.
Winning the Deluxe Kritter Kondo would make Stormi and Tai very happy, too. They are indoor kitties and would love to be able to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Deb

So many possibilities for the girls being outside. I could see tossing a blanket over this to make an indoor “cave”. That might be almost as good as a new box.

  • Connie Marie

This would be a good thing to have for who doen’t get along to be in the same room with me. It’s think pink!!
    Please enter me!
Great luck on winning the award!!

  • da tabbies o trout towne

dood…we just wanna say best fishes on yur best blog CATegory award soon ta bee a baziilion dollars in yur bank account prize N we hope everee one haza grate week oh end !!

  • Lourdes

This looks like a great enclosure. I never take the cats outside unless they are on a leash but this is a great way to have them enjoy the outside while being safe.
Good luck in the awards… you deserve to win! We think you are always a winner!

  • NancyE

I’d love to win one of these; I would give it to my son for his cat Caesar, adopted from Citizens for Animal Protection in Houston. He LOVED going outside and was allowed to until he came home severely injured one night; this would enable him to go out again.

  • Dale Rae

Would love one of these to see if it would be at all possible to get one kitty we’ve had to keep separate from the other 3 cats for 4 years now! It would be so nice if we could get them “together” without risk of injury.

  • Carol Compton

This would be a lovely thing to winn indeed! Please put my name in the hat to win. Speaking of winning, best of luck tonight. We’ll be purring for you.

  • Cheysuli

We have often wondered how those would work out. The Woman worries Gemini wouldn’t like it in there as she likes to roam, but it would be nice to have her out in it while the Woman was out gardening or something so she didn’t have to watch her constantly…

  • Jen M.

Oooh! This would be great for our kitties! Whenever we have renovations done, we have to board them. This would be very handy for those times!

Also, I don’t like the idea of letting my cats outside, but with this, we could give them a little taste of nature! 🙂

  • nadbugs

Please oh please. We are tearing up the Inside Kondo. Our Bean is at her wit’s end. She is not fun to be with like that. Send Kritter Kondo immediately. We want to put her in it.

  • hannibal2

This would be so wonderful for the kids. They’ve never been outside. Ever since Ziva chewed through the wires to the computer in the office (the only door that that has a screen to the outside), they can’t even bask in the good smells anymore because that room is off limits. Now the boys won’t have to suffer for their sister’s bad behavior. I know we all thought Joel did it, but this time it wasn’t his fault. Our house is so dark. Oh, please, let them see the sun.

  • Vicky

The girls would love to win this! a chance to see what the great outdoors would be like in the great out doors, not just from the window seat.

  • Ms. Phoebe

This is so pawsome! Mom said we could really use this as I get older and am stubborn about staying as close by in the back yard. I love going outside, but due to my chronic illness it would keep me safe and still let me enjoy the outdoors. Thank mew for another pawsome giveaway!
ConCATulations and good luck at the Pettie Awards, mew boys and Auntie Layla rock!
