Tailio is High Tech Cat Wellness At Your Fingertips

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Tailio

Once in a while a new technology comes along to radically improve the lives of cats.Tailio the first smart health monitoring system is one and I’m impressed. I’m not the only one. Tailio launched a successful Kickstarter campaign and quickly exceeded their goal. What’s the buzz all about?

Imagine being able to monitor all your cats’ individual litter box activity and patterns, track weight loss or gain, detect signs and symptoms of possible illness and even notify you when the litter box was last cleaned. And it can identify each cat in a multiple cat home. No, it’s not magic. It’s simply a non-invasive, flat Wi-Fi device that fits under any litter box (using any kind of litter) and connected via a mobile app for a smart phone or tablet. The data is collected with intelligent analytics in the cloud. Tailio is High Tech Cat Wellness At Your Fingertips. Now, that’s what I call smart!

tailio The Tailio device measures 18” L x 12” W x 2” D (457 x 305 x 51 millimeters). The easy to clean, non-skid rubber mat surface will hold most any litter box firmly in place.

Cats are clever at hiding symptoms of illness. Often by the time the symptoms are obvious, it may be too late, or involve more more costly vet treatment. The best and most cost-effective feline wellness is prevention. Tailio does not identify a disease or diagnose feline conditions but detects signs and symptoms of health issues earlier than people can, and alerts cat owners to potential problems.

Owners can share objective information with their veterinarian to help diagnose and treat their cats. Tailio provides a simple, easy to understand symptom history information to email prior to the vet visit and help to answer common questions during a veterinarian visit. The more quickly informed your vet is, the easier it is to determine the diagnosis and treatment plan. This is all the more important with the all too common urinary issues and kidney disease in cats where a delay can be deadly.

I wish I’d had a Tailio last year when my then 19-year-old cat with kidney disease was rushed to the vet, peeing blood. Emergency vet visits after hours, on weekends and holidays can cost a bundle. An earlier diagnosis and treatment would have saved time, worry, pain and money.

One of my favorite features about the Tailio is the ease of monitoring from any location 24/7. During the busy holiday season or summer holidays when vacationing, many leave their cats in the care of a cat sitter. With a Tailio, you can check whether the litter is being changed and if not, remind the person. The peace of mind knowing we can check up on our pets any time is priceless.

As a cat owner, Alex Treiner, the founder and inventor developed Tailio with his own personal experiences in mind. He says,"I know the heartbreak of discovering your beloved cat's illness too late. I knew if I could develop a device that detected signs of disease or distress earlier, that it would help owners to avoid the pain of losing their pets before their time. That's why I created Tailio."
