It’s Merlin here with a photo quote de jour from moi, a wise old meezer. My mom Layla is in Manhattan today to see Oprah and Deepak Chopra at Radio City Music Hall but I don’t care. All the wisdom I need is right in my backyard. Sometimes when I’m going for walkies in the garden, Layla worries about me bumping into thorny bushy and other obstacles because of my vision. She needn’t worry. There is more than one kind of vision. To her and to you, I say this…
I keep moving one step at a time, unconcerned about what or who stands in my way. The good thing about getting older is being wiser and knowing what’s important. Whatever we focus on, we get more of it. When we focus on what we don’t want, we will experience more of that feeling and manifest more of that. It’s just as important to know what we don’t want as what we do want.
As always with my wisdom: take what feels right and leave the rest. It’s always your choice.
This poem by James Broughton sums up how I feel about bumping into things.
intrepid all the way
walk toward clarity
with sharp eye
With sharpened sword
clearcut the path
to the lucent surprise
At every crossroad
be prepared to bump into wonder
