Meezer Merlin Trumps Oprah

It’s Merlin here with a photo quote de jour from moi, a wise old meezer. My mom Layla is in Manhattan today to see Oprah and Deepak Chopra at Radio City Music Hall but I don’t care. All the wisdom I need is right in my backyard. Sometimes when I’m going for walkies in the garden, Layla worries about me bumping into thorny bushy and other obstacles because of my vision. She needn’t worry. There is more than one kind of vision. To her and to you, I say this…

I keep moving one step at a time, unconcerned about what or who stands in my way. The good thing about getting older is being wiser and knowing what’s important. Whatever we focus on, we get more of it. When we focus on what we don’t want, we will experience more of that feeling and manifest more of that. It’s just as important to know what we don’t want as what we do want.

As always with my wisdom: take what feels right and leave the rest. It’s always your choice.

This poem by James Broughton sums up how I feel about bumping into things.

Not dawdling
not doubting
intrepid all the way
walk toward clarity
with sharp eye
With sharpened sword
clearcut the path
to the lucent surprise
of enlightenment
At every crossroad
be prepared to bump into wonder

  1. Amen. If you see with your heart you will always find the right path. We love you Merlin. Skeeter and Izzy. >^..^<

  2. Georgia was good at that as she got older. She wanted time with the Woman and as she got frailer she got more of that. She wanted a litter box upstairs and she got two. She wanted to snooze on the bed with the Woman and she got that. She wanted all the attention and she certainly got it. She wanted Gemini to leave her alone and the Woman would get mad when Gemini would pick on her. She wanted her junk food and she got that too. Yes, Georgia was very much able to get all she wanted in her last years…

  3. Oh, we do like that poem, and that last line most especially!

We hope your human enjoys herself, but you are quite correct in that all the wisdom anyone ever needs is in your own backyard, i.e. within your Self.
