Lucky Winner Plus Special Needs Black Cat Needs Home

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Lucky Winner Plus Special Needs Black Cat Needs Home

Well, hello darling! I’m so glad you stopped by to read the ramblings of an old black cat. It’s a frigid Monday on the eve of a blizzard. They weather report is forecasting a couple feet but whose feet? Human or feline remains to be seen. I’m just happy to be snug and warm sitting next to my mum as she taps my thoughts into computer machine thingy. I’m also happy that my blood sugars are normal on some days. Yay, no insulin and those days and thrilled to have my mum, Layla back from the city. She was gone Friday and again on Sunday to attend Cat Camp. Camp in the middle of winter? Can you imagine and not a tent in sight. Apparently, it was a conference with speakers, vendors and lots of rescue cats needing homes. Layla loved meeting Lil Bub again, and seeing lots of old friends and new ones. She’ll post pics soon and there’s a couple videos on our two instagram accounts. Jackson Galaxy said hi and Kitten Lady was a delight but Layla couldn’t stop thinking about the cats who weren’t getting any attention.

There were several rescue groups and some had better luck than others. A couple cooed over their newly adopted FIV+ kitty and several black cats had adoption applications freshly inked. Then there was a petite, black special needs beauty named Amelia who sat in the furthest corner of her cage, down and dejected. She slow-blinked Layla and listened as the volunteer told Layla about her special needs: bladder paralysis. It means she can’t pee by herself and requires urine to be manually expressed. It’s not that difficult. It’s what Mike Bridavsky, lil Bub’s dad has done for Bub since 2011. He told Layla than she is no more work than a normal human child but a special needs cat is not for everyone. Sigh, it’s true but Amelia is barely three and what chance does she have? I’m hoping to improve her odds of getting adopting by sharing her photo and info.

Maybe if you share and tell someone, she might get lucky. She’s being fostered in Harlem by the cat rescue KindKind.org. Christina Ha, the co-owner of the the cat cafe, Meow Parlour who spearheaded Cat Camp is president of KittyKind. Contact Carina at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Every day we feature a black cat at our BlackCatsofIG Instagram account. We give one cat the star treatment as our Cat of the Day. Since Amelia has never known a permanent home, let alone any star treatment, we are featuring her as our Cat Of The Day today.

Now, I’m sprinkling lucky Irish fairy dust to everyone this week. May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night and a smooth road all the way home.

Love,

Clyde and our gang
