Awkward Family Pet Photos
The title is self-explanatory. We’ve all seen them and maybe you have some of your own. It starts out with good or cute intentions but ends with comic or cringe-worthy results. Awesome publicist Jonathan Lazzara from Random House overnighted a copy of Awkward family Pet Photos by Mike Bender and Doug Chernack to my utter delight. The writers, high school pals from New Jersey, became screenwriters in Hollywood but found unexpected success with their best-selling book Awkward Family Photos in 2010. Branching out to include pets was a no-brainer. The “Awkward” brand creators are hoping to spin this into TV and film and who knows what else. Look out LOL cats! 
From the faux family photo album cover in Christmas colors to the glossy contents, every photo screams awkward and what were you thinking? in full embarrassing color. No animal is left out. There are hapless horses, ditzy dogs, crazy cats and crazier two-legged family members. The only thing more shocking is that it’s all and real and true. You can’t make this up folks. I can see it now, art imitating life: families this Christmas posing with their pets and holding up their own copy of Awkward Family Pet Photos in a doppelganger of laughs. Fa la la la la, la la la la….

LOL.. these pics are like the school pics from my youth. These things always seem like the “best” idea at the time…at least they can provide continuing moments of laughter. I love looking at photos of any kind even when I don’t know anyone in them and pet photos can tell so much about the relationship between the animal and human involved even when they are of the most undignifying sort of pic. Humor and laughter are indeed the best medicines for us all. I am so glad I found your page and sooo enjoy sharing the adventures of your furry family.
