30 lb. Declawed Cat Rescued From Feral Colony
The saddest cat I’ve seen in a long time at the New Rochelle Humane Society is Toony. She’s lucky to be alive. Someone dumped a 30 lb, declawed cat at a feral colony in Westchester County. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked in her cage. She is so morbidly obese she could hardly move. A foster home where her meals can be monitored (without other pets) and a gradual exercise/play routine implemented would be ideal. Toony is quite a pretty, dilute tortoiseshell who needs help fast. Please share. The power of social media works! Scroll down to see who got adopted.
Stanley, who has epilepsy was adopted! This particular graphic has a massive amount of shares thanks to Victoria Stilwell.
Happy Earth Day! I wish all shelter cats can breathe fresh air in a real home one day.

I have a 26 pound male cat. he is solid muscle and when I expressed concern to my vet about his size and weight the vet told me that this type of cat is customarily very big. He advised me not to put the cat on a diet because this cat could get very sick. The cat seems healthy runs around and really doesn’t eat very much. Does anybody have any suggestions. I love him and want him to live a long time

If you don’t agree with your vet, get a second opinion but please don’t put your cat on a diet without the recommedation of a vet. The best weight loss cat food requires a prescription from a vet anyway. Let me know what you decide.

I hope there’s a foster situation or adoption for this poor girl soon. She needs room to moved around and stimulation to help lose the lbs.
I’m a day late wishing you a Happy Earth Day, but we should celebrate everyday!

What a beautiful statue in front of your shelter, but where is the cat?

Good question. It’s an old one to honor the NRHS founder over a 100 years ago.

Poor Toony! Our angel cat Sammy was very also overweight when he was found in a feral colony (about 22 lbs.). When we adopted him, he was 19 and change. Through diet and exercise, we were able to get his weight down to a little over 15. We will share about this special ladycat, and purr and pray she finds a good foster home very soon!
Sammy
Poor Toony…..I hope and pray BIG TIME that she gets help in the form of a loving, caring forever home where she can become healthy and know REAL love.
Hugs, Sammy

We are purring for this kitty and all others who need homes too.

Poor Toony! I’ll bet she had a behavior issue from declawing like biting and her people gave her treats or food to make her stop whatever it was. Glad she’s at least safe.
Layla Morgan Wilde (Cat Wisdom 101)
That sounds very possible. It’s another reason not to declaw.

We will send up extra prayers and purrs for Toony. I will never be ablre to understand why we , as humans, can be sooooooooooooo STUPID!!!
The wonderful side is she got rescued from there and has a great chance at finding her purrfect furever home. The second wonderful thing is Stanley getting his furever home!!!!
I really wish we could at least spay and neuter stupid.

That poor Toony. First of all, how could anyone in their right mind turn a declawed cat loose to roam and find his/her own way. They have no way to defend themselves.. Second, it was cruel to keep feeding him food high in calories.
Sometimes Cats Herd You
Oh, goodness! We’re scheduling a share on Twitter later today to get the word out about her. Poor Toony, we hope she can recover and have a happy and healthy future.

Toony I’m so sad what some bad humans did to you… and I hope you will find a furever home where you get all the love that you can forget all that horrible things of the past…

Miss Layla, you should contact Hills and see if they would sponsor Toony and get her on the Perfect Weight diet.

OMC, poor Toony! I will share about her.
