Lights, camera, cats! If you’re anywhere near L.A. next Sunday, Sep. 21, check out the LA Feline Film Festival. It’s a video compilation of Web’s most-watched cat videos curated by Will Braden of Henri le Chat Noir and not to be missed event. The image above was taken at the recent Cat Video Festival in Minneapolis but in L.A. the cat videos will be projected onto an 80-foot high screen. MewOW!

Tickets start at $15, $7 for kids and are available online at http://lafelinefilmfestival.com/tickets/. The event is on 1 – 10 p.m. at Christmas Tree Lane at Exposition Park, Los Angeles. We covered the most recent event in Minneapolis and will be covering the L.A. event as well.

There will also be a special appearance of celebrity cats including the out of this world cutie Lil Bub

A portion of the proceeds will go to five organizations: No-Kill Los Angeles, a coalition of organizations and people working to make Los Angeles a no-kill city; the Stray Cat Alliance, Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats, FixNation and Milo’s Sanctuary.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Internet Cat Video Festival is a project of the Walker Art Center, a nonprofit contemporary art center in Minneapolis, MN. The world’s first-ever Internet Cat Video Festival was conceived at the Walker in 2012 as a modest celebration to bring online communities together in the real world. Catvidfest became its own viral phenomenon, drawing more than 10,000 fans to the Walker’s Open Field green space and winning the attention of local, national, and international audiences and media. More than a collection of cute cat videos, Catvidfest is an embrace of an internet phenomena and experiment in transforming a solitary online viewing experience into a real world social event. We covered the most recent event in Minneapolis and will be covering the L.A. event as well.
