The Odin Olympics

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

To say Odin is athletic is understatement. We go out every day and he trains like an Olympic athlete. I follow and coach from the ground. He’s a natural for agility training and kitty parkour (is there such a thing?) or as we call it: The Odin Olympics. It’s an ideal exercise for a cat as high-strung, intelligent and curious as Odin. If he had to be an indoor only kitty, he’d require a massive amount of play therapy to burn off his wild boy energy or risk behavioral issues. His climbing and balancing skills are remarkable for a one-eyed cat.

Odin is following in Merlin’s philosophical footsteps…

Cats naturally know when to take a break from hunting or playing or Olympic training. This is a rare repose for Odin before he’s up and…

cat-odin-portrait-layla morgan wilde funny-cat-jumping running, jumping and annoying his cat brothers for good measure. None of them can remotely do what he does and look up in at him in amazement. Then there’s the stretching, final cool down and mega catnap indoors. cute-cat-cat wisdom 101.com-odin Have you played with your cat today?Just do it!

Odin”s coat is so beautiful. I love seeing him in his element playing like that. He reminds me of my Joel who also is so nimble with one eye. Cats never cease to amaze.

Odin, you are quite the energetic guy. We sure are glad you have a home where someone realizes the benefits of outside exercise. Luckily Mahoney and her Mom are both kittens. I don’t think Maggie is even a year old yet so they play like crazy all day and then crash. Yup. Odin, you sure do need to be in the olympics. Take care.

He is soo adorable. And sooo good! I tried to convince my family that cats’ bpones have more collagen, but alas, to no effect. (It isn’t true). Ched and Mao wonder why my husband (who’s won awards) is so bad at jumping. They think that hoomans are soo bad at ‘lethics. True.

It is beautiful how God compensates and gives us more (Odin’s bravery and daring) in spite of his not being able to see.

You are blessed that you happen to live in a SAFE area with lots of land to allow a cat to go outside. If I were to allow Cody to go outside here, the odds would be hugely against his returning home safely.

Caren, we are very lucky to have a large property of lawns and wild spaces. Odin is trained to not go near any road and he sees fine with the help of his third eye 😉
@Chey, tell your mom, even Steven. I guess Odin will be expecting a medal soon!
@Kathryn, maybe Ched & Mao can give hubby jumping tips?
@Pam & Sam, I’ll tell Odin and hope his ego can handle it 😉
@Carolyn, Purrs to Austin, they are birds of a feather..oops wrong simile
@Angelina, that’s the bonus of kitty playtime.

Odin, you are my inspiration! You’ve got more energy than I’ve EVER had (although I do have spurts of energy to rival your climbing expeditions!!). When life hands you lemons, make lemonade (whatever THAT is). No wonder your brothers are envious – you leave them in the dust when it comes to being fearless.

Oh Odin, I do love you!!! It is true, if they have excess energy, they need either to go out or have intensive play therapy! Some cats are remarkable in their agility x
