Natural AmberTick Flea Collar Giveaway

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Flea and tick season is around the corner. We wanted to find a natural flea and tick repellentambertick-flea-tick-protection-pets-natural- and the nice folks at Ambertick sent us a collar to try. A beautifully made collar of natural Baltic amber stone and soft leather met Merlin’s approval. Merlin is too old (18.5 with kidney disease) to use a chemical flea/tick product so we’re hoping Ambertick works. It takes about two weeks before the benefit take effect and so far so good. The natural “stones’ from Lithuania are actually resin from trees fossilized 50 million years ago. The feel warm to the touch and once rubbed emit a warm sweet odor.

The collar was too big for Merlin so we snipped off the end. He really seemed to like it. Amber has other healing properties and I’ve had a large chunky necklace I’ve enjoyed for its calming properties for years. Amber allows body to heal itself while emitting a soothing energy awhile absorbing negative energy. It also happens to help heal disorders of the kidney and bladder. For more of its esoteric properties vist Amber Healing. I figure it’s non evasive and there’s nothing to lose by trying it. However, it does not have a breakaway collar and for that reason I would not use it on Odin who loves climbing trees and exploring underbrush where it could get caught on.

If you’d like the chance to win one an Ambertick collar of your choice, simply leave a comment at this post anytime before midnight EST, April 12, 2013. Good luck! The winner will be announced next Friday. We also happy to announce the winner of our pet bed giveaway sponsored by Pets 360 is Christine Connallon.

A cat was coming to my door every night meowing. At first I thought the neighbor had a new cat. As he came everyday, after 2 weeks, I gave him food, 2 weeks later,I decided I should adopt him. I named him Mitzu. I bought some chemical drops to treat the fleas as I live in the tampa bay area in Florida and it’s flea heaven. As I don’t like chemical I looked at alternatives. I found the amber collar and decided , I should give it a try. I bought it on amazon. Something like a week after I put the drops, the collar arrived and I put it on the cat. Now it’s 3 months later. The cat only scratches once in a while. I just checked him with the flea comb. I haven’t found a single flea. I am quite impressed. I didn’t think it would work. The only thing is that when he licks himself every now and then he catches and chews one of the stone.

I have refused flea treatments for my cat Buddy. I would love to have this to help him live a better life. Buddy has kidney problems and is on a special diet. He was a foundling who appeared on my porch one morning and found a forever home. Buddy had been declawed and was already advanced in age when we took him in. So we are blessed to have time to share with him and love too. Buddy was full of fleas when we got him and had to be bathed professionally at the vets on a number of occasions. I know how animals must suffer from fleas and ticks. Anything that is non-invasive and that might just help prevent these infestations would be a godsend. Thanks for the additional info on amber. Who knows it might just help the owner of the cat, too!

I have to say this is a very beautiful natural Baltic Amber stone collar to keep fleas away. I just read that Merlin who looks great for 18 yrs is suffering from kidney disease and things around them should be natural, nothing chemically or with a chemical smell, or one they could lick and really get more sick. I can relate since my cat had kidney disease and just passed away at 20.5. This would be nice to win to give to a friend of mine who has a cat. I’d have to decide which one to give it to, since they both adopted new kitties. 🙂 Have a meowing day…

Ahh this would be perfect! My kitty has GI lymphoma and we’ve been battling a flea problem for months. We’ve been hesitant about frontline because we don’t want any toxins in her body with the chemo and holistic treatments we’re giving her, but the sprays and wipes only take care of the issue temporarily. And the zodiac collar gets powder all over her fur 🙁 This would relieve us of a lot of work, and it’d be great healing energy for her as well. Crossing fingers!

Would love to win this flea collar for Mamama, a former feral cat that we had fixed, and have taken her under our wings and into our hearts!

  • Penelope

That is a beautiful Collar! If me don’t win, Mommy says she will get some beads, and may make mes a amber collar as besides fleas, it is supposed to be good for joints and for tummy troubles and me has both!

My cats are outdoor cats and I presently use Revolution. I am really interested in trying a natural product that is free of toxic side effects. This product sound amazing.

Sorry Kimberly about Tuxie Leona…we will purr for a safe passage across the bridge and for Nantan Vincent to know that Tuxie is safe and happy on the other side.
This sounds very interesting and if nothing else is quite beautiful! If we win we want ours to go to Nantan Vincent. Luvs Skeeter and Izzy >^..^<
PS Merlin looks quite dapper in his!

Austin hates the gunk on the neck. It really worries him, so the vet said he might be a candidate for an injection that lasts for six months!! I’ve not heard of this before. The amber collar sounds ideal, if it works! x

Funny you should mention this a friend of ours is having a problem with ticks every single time she allows her cat out. I will tell her about it.
BTW when I clicked on the link to Ambertick my AV software said it had malicious code and would not let me go to the site. I know you don’t have any thing to do with that but I thought I would warn you and everyone about that safety warning I got.

WOW! We so want that! Not only is our dear sisfur, Suzie, pathologically, neurotically and scared-out-of-her-furry-pants allergic to fleas, the HuMan of teh family is 3rd generation Lithuania. So even if we don’t win, I’m sure he’ll be buying all of us some of these fancy Lithwok amber collars. Thanks for letting us know about them!

  • Cherry City Kitties

How cool is that! Crystals (well Amber counts says mom), natural, and well, down right good looking! Who could ask for more in a flea collar. Dad says he knows about some scientifical guy who did experiments with amber, and cats and electricicals and he’ll explain it to us sometime (uh… that’s ok dad, we know you’re a science geek) It all seems pretty cool.
If we winned, we’d give it to our cousin Spooks, cause he goes outside way more than we do, and he’d look quite handsome in it! What a cool thing you found to share with us!

I would so very much appreciate this for my family’s Beloved Maine Coon, Nantan Vincent. We have tried other treatments & nothing is working for him this year so far. Poor Nantan Vincent is scratching up a storm & I hate to see him suffering so. Also, he is in mourning because our Beloved Tuxedo cat, Tuxie Leona, passed away & crossed Rainbow Bridge just yesterday morning at 9am est. Feeling better from this necklace would cheer him up big time. <3

I’m always looking for a natural way to keep fleas/ticks off my kitty. She is indoor only but last year a pesky flea must have rode in on me and found Ellie. It happens. We would love to give this a try. Keep us posted on how it works for Merlin.

My girls don’t go outside so it would not be of benefit to me. I just want to point out that amber is also good for baby teething and for joint inflammation. It doesn’t seem to help my rheumatoid arthritis but I have another friend with osteoarthritis who swears by it. I gave her an amber bracelet I bought before I knew my problem was RA and she says she wouldn’t be without it.

Regardless of whether one thinks they work, I find them quite stylish.

merlin…dood…ya iz lookin good in yur collar buddy N we never new that bout amber…thanx for de advice N we hope ewe N de crew haza awesum week oh end 🙂

  • maggie

I’d love to win this. Our cat Ms Grace Lillian loves to go outside – just for a few minutes tearing wildly around our yard, into the woods, and back to our door. I would like her to get more exercise but don’t want to put chemicals on her for her occasional jaunts.
This sounds like the perfect solution.

Love the new look of the blog!

I would LOVE to get one of these for Misty. Amber has always been a special stone for me and is one that I wear a lot of the time. My fur-baby is always interested in my amber earrings and likes to lick them. I think she’s trying to tell me that she needs a collar with amber on it and I didn’t get the message until now. Hopefully we’ll win one; but, if not, I will certainly buy one for her.

My one cat almost died last year from one of the conventional flea treatments I applied to him (Advantage for cats). Since then I refuse to apply anything to any of my cats. I would love to win this necklace and if it indeed works as miraculously as I’ve read above, I will invest in a necklace for each of my other cats.
