My Cat From Hell (Not)
Merlin here, your intrepid reporter of all new and mews about the feline species. You may have noticed I was noticeably absent during this week’s Cat Saturday or Caturday. Never fear, I’m fit as a fiddle thanks to several factors.
The weather turned miraculously warm one day and I couldn’t believe the humans ate breakfast outdoors! In January. Gris Gris who never goes out in the cold spurred me on. I needed to scent-mark my way off the porch and into the garden to compensate for my limited vision. The wicker basket by the front door is a favorite place. But I’m not blind enough to think that cat sculpture of Bast is a real cat!
Like most cats, I hate the cold but the balmy air and a brisk walk was a tonic for these old bones. Across the grounds, Odin cavorted with Mystery Miss. I’m too old for that kind of thing but in my younger days, I would have swept her off all four paws, if you get my drift.
Domino found a sunny spot on a log to keep an eye on things.
He luxuriated in the sudden warmth but indoors I act as his fur blanket and pillow. He’s taken to giving me nightly extreme grooming and massage while we watch television. We have no cats from hell here. Life is good.

Formerly Feral is a wonderful name! Our FF is still somewhat anxious and has been overgrooming, so it was off to the vets with her. If it was a busy, noisy house she might be a kitty who always lived under furniture. Its so sad because she is a lovely kitty who didn’t have a great start.
RumpyDog!
I wish there were no ferals anymore and they were all as happy as Domino.

We’re a little jealous that you got to go outside. It’s too cold here to spend any length of time outdoors!
Domino, we’re glad you are liking not being feral!
Ingrid King
That last photo – there just aren’t any words. Okay one word: purrfect! Okay, three more: melts my heart!
Cheysuli
We are glad you are not feral any more either. Feral cats have a very hard time. And look what good friends you have too!
Brian
Formerly feral is a wonderful thing and I love that last pic too!

@Chey, all three love him in different ways.

Awwwwwww! I bet Domino is soothed by Merlin’s crystals as well.
boomermuse
Yes, he is. I got some amazing pics last night of him clutching the big crystal.
@Heather, and you’ll like it too.
Fuzzy Tales, thanks. Nothing better than melting weather and melting hearts!
Fuzzy Tales
Wonderful photos and yes, that last one is a heart-melter. 🙂
We’re glad you had a wonderful mild weekend! We had +6C on Friday and Saturday, very atypical for us! Not warm enough to eat breakfast outside, though. LOL.
Max the Quilt Cat
OMC… that last picture is so cute. They are all great, but that last one. It just makes my day.

I love these posts of Merlin, Domino, & Gris Gris! I watched The Cat from Hell for the first time this weekend because of your reviews and really could see that Jackson was good at what he does. I wish I could get him to come to my house and help me with one of my 4 cats (Sophie~ who won’t come out of my room to where the other 3 cats are and who hisses if they come near her). I lived for 30 + years in New Orleans so I love your name Gris Gris. smile

Alice, Jackson does remote consultations. You can contact him through his website.

Angelina, watching them together is better than television!
@Phoenix, glad to share.
Carolyn, all gooey is good. Purrs to you and Austin!
Milo & Alfie, thanks! We’re impressed with your early blooms.
@Alice, glad, you enjoyed the show. You’re one of the few that understand GG’s name. Most people mis-pronounce it.
@Max, he’s come such a long way. There are more pic coming.
