Meet #AdorableAdoptables Sweet Smudge The Cat

Shelter volunteers can always expect the unexpected. A couple weeks ago I was hellbent on getting the incredibly adoptable Gilbert, the adorable tabby a perfect home but there were no takers. I figured if he was still there the next time I showed up, I’d take him but he had an eye infection. Fate intervened yet again. These were the last shots of him because HE GOT ADOPTED. I confess to feeling a twinge of “what ifs” but it’s all good.

There was a slight uptick in adoptions at NewRochelleHumanSociety.org but as always, there’s a revolving door of new arrivals. This week’s feature is a sweet gal named Smudge who arrived back in April and is in the large, cage-free area. She’s about three years old, cuddly and sweet. Good luck to Smudge! When the mom adopted Julie, Jule had a little black spot on her forehead that disappeared as she got older. The vet suggested the name “Smudge” for her, but it was not to be.
