How To Celebrate Father’s Day With The Best Cat Dad
Guest post by feline editor, Odin Wilde
Leave it to a cat to give you the best advice about cat dads. Hi, it’s me, Odin and I’m going to share how to celebrate Father’s day with the Best Cat Dad.
If you missed my 13th Birthday party recently, you’ll see what I’ve been up to. This year is the first year since I was born that there is only one cat left to celebrate Father’s Day.
We’ve enjoyed some fun times. Oh, those were the days. So many great posts like We Decode 5 Kinds Of Cat Dad Styles with Free Father’s Day Cards
What Cool Dads Want For Father’s Day
I miss my pals but there are advantages to being an only cat. You get more attention. I’m lucky to have two very different pawrents. They both give me everything I need but I have a secret. Only my cat dad feeds me and I reward him by rubbing my handsome self all over his legs. I have him wrapped around my paw. He will feed me even in the middle of the night if I want. We love going on walks and I love hanging out with my cat dad and cat mom.
This is us on a recent walk.
My dad is a dad to two adult human kids but even dads who don’t have two-legged kids, can be cats. It’s about being a loving, responsible guardian.
These are my tips for celebrating Cat Dad. As much as I love giving fat mousies or chipmunks as a gift, I don’t recommend it. Cat dads can celebrate Father’s Day in special ways to honor their role as loving caregivers to their feline companions. How much do I love my dad?
Odin the cat, so sleek and spry,
Gazes at his dad with an adoring eye.
He paws at his heartstrings,
As the love between them sings,
Father’s Day bliss, they both decry.
Here are some of my ideas:
- Quality Time: My favorite. Well, not getting dressed up. Spend dedicated quality time with your cat on Father’s Day. Engage in their favorite activities, such as play sessions, grooming, or simply cuddling together. Show them love and attention throughout the day.
- Explore the Outdoors: Yes! If your cat enjoys outdoor adventures, take them on a supervised outing. I don’t need a leash but I suggest using a harness and leash. If being an adventure cat isn’t for you, create a safe enclosed area where they can explore and soak up the sun while you spend time together.
- Special Treats: Treat your cat to their favorite treats or prepare homemade cat-friendly treats to celebrate the occasion. Just ensure that the treats are safe and appropriate for their dietary needs.
- Catnip Fun: If your cat enjoys catnip, indulge them in some catnip playtime. Offer them catnip toys or sprinkle some fresh catnip on their favorite resting spots to create a playful and enjoyable environment for them. I like some sprinkled on my Bergan Scratching toy so I can go crazy chasing the ball.
- Gift Exchange: No, not a mousie. Treat yourself as a cat dad by getting a little gift for yourself that celebrates the bond you share with your cat. It could be a new cat-themed accessory, a personalized item, or something that enhances your cat’s comfort or playtime.
- Capture Memories: Take photos or videos of your cat throughout the day to capture special Father’s Day moments. These memories will serve as lasting reminders of your bond and the love you share. Share them on social media if that’s your thing. Use the hashtag #catdadday.
7. Support Animal Welfare: Consider donating or volunteering your time to a local animal shelter or rescue organization in honor of Father’s Day. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the feline community and help other cats in need.
Remember, the most important thing is to cherish and appreciate the unique bond you share with your feline friend. Celebrate Father’s Day by showering your cat with love, attention, and care, and enjoy the special moments together.
P.S. Since the bad air quality here, I’ve been sneezing and feeling poorly. I hate the vet but that’s where I’m going next week. Maybe, that’s best gift after all.
Oh, and if you want to laugh, my mom made the creepiest video. The cat looks like a distant relative of mine, like a creepy uncle. The message fits because my cat dad is the best cat day but so is yours.
Happy Father’s Day & Cat Dad Day!
xo, Odin

I love this post!! Do you believe I think this is the FIRST year I did NOT post for Father’s Day? I was just so busy that it totally got away from me. All I did was post on Facebook lol. Oh well, I told Lenny and he understands. You will laugh, Lenny is disappointed that ever since Roary’s surgery he has FINALLY bonded with me. He loves Lenny but now seeks me out (I started a new thing when he had his cone on that I brush him EVERY DAY and he LOVES IT!) That’s what did it! Lenny is quite dissappointed lol. Happy Belated Cat Daddy day to Joe!
