Total Eclipse of the Heart Cats

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Total Eclipse of the Heart Cats. The total solar eclipse is today but my heart is on the black moon and my mom. If you have a heart cat you’ll understand. If you’re interested in how the eclipse might impact you, read on. If you are within viewing distance, do not view the solar eclipse without special glasses. It can cause retinal damage or blindness. If you are within the 80-mile viewing strip, tag us and we’ll share. Cats and most animals are smart enough to know something weird is happening and would not stare at the new moon. Wildlife have been known to act as if it’s night with bird song stopping mid-song. The eclipse is taking place in Leo at:

NEW YORK: August 21, 2.30 pm

SYDNEY: August 22, 4.30 am

LONDON: August 21, 7.30 pm

This new moon is a BLACK MOON. It occurs when there are four New Moons in a season, rather than the usual three. These moons rise once every 33 months. The next will be on May 22, 2020.

The actual eclipse may only last for a couple minutes but transformational impact astrologically will unfold over the six months. The portal is open for major changes but you must be willing to take action and step through the portal. It might mean shedding old fur or skin, losing what or who is keeping you from moving forward. It’s your choice to blame or forgive–it’s your life. For many, it will be a game-changer. It can be positive or negative but the world will feel the ripples everywhere.

My mom, Layla is a triple Leo so she’s been hit/blessed with an intense triple whammy which is why she landed in the hospital. She’s still there and I miss here. It’s the first time she’s left me overnight since I arrived in my new home last year. As you know, I’m her assistant and we work closely together, usually in bed on the third floor. While my dad spoke on the phone with her yesterday she said, “Put him on speaker.” I happened to be chowing down my dinner and sensed something was up.

“Clyde! Clydie Bear, can you hear me? I’m coming home soon. I love you.”

My ears perked up towards the sound and looked around. Huh? She must be upstairs in our special place and ran as fast as my furry, old legs could carry me. I glanced all around the empty room. What kind of trickster sorcery is this? My dad looked at me and I shot back my best wtf tilt of the head. She’s not here so where is she? At least I knew she was alive – like kidnappers do in the movies. I let out one of my loud, plaintive meoooows I reserve for feed me now or I’ll commit a felony.

Finally, my dad said she’s still at the hospital having more tests. Maybe she’ll be home today or soon or maybe she’ll be retiring. What lunacy is this? Ugh, not what I expected. Unacceptable. Just as I’m getting my writing chops and made my author debut. These are volatile times. Anything is possible they say. Layla posted a horrible selfie on Facebook from the hospital looking like a Renaissance martyr. Those darn Leos do have a sense of drama.

All Leos, look out! This is tabula rasa time, a clean slate, turn over a new leaf or whatever metaphor lights you up. The new you, new anything is waiting for you to say, yes, I want that. I deserve it and I’m ready to move forward with confidence. But here’s the rub. Layla wants to disappear and lead an offline life. Not exactly retire but not work 24/7. You’ll know why soon enough, but for now, I leave you with the inspiring words of Marianne Williamson.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

How will the eclipse impact your astrological sign? The future is spelled out clearly at Bustle.com For women, there is a unifying theme of tapping into the Divine feminine source of power we’ve lost sight off under a doormat. If you feel like some part of your is missing, a ritual to call it back. Light a candle. Stretch your arms high and say outloud, I call back my power (sweep hands to heart) to me. Repeat until you feel strong. Then write down your soul wishes and intentions.

Shine on darlings. Hang tight. Strap on your seatbelt, safety line and prepare for anything.

May you feel the power of love to transform, heal, unify, and create pawsitive change.

Bright Eclipse Blessings to all!

Love, Clyde, your eclipse cat

P.S. Tomorrow is: Take Your Cat To The Vet Day. We already did that last week with me going for a check-up. Not bad but my blasted kidney disease getting worse, not to mention my hearing. The emergency early morning emergency vet visit, on Friday after another sleepless night was the proverbial last straw for Layla. More vet visits planned this week.

If you want to help out, no need to leave comments, just share about our book. Tell a friend or buy it. My story is a doozy. You’ll never guess in nine lives what I used to do. Because of the unexpected eclipse of the heart situation, we are extending our offer to donate 100% of all proceeds of our book Black Cats Tell All: True Tales And Inspiring Images to Milo’s Sanctuary until further notice. Cat Chat With Caren And Cody posted an amazing review. I’m so envious of some of my fellow contributor’s famous lives.

I do appreciate when fellow cats take the time to review our book and promote black cats like Melissa’s Mocha’s Mysteries and Meows

Hospitals are not fun but they are helpful in times of need. I hope you are soon well and home again, Layla.

Onetime yars ago, my sister and I let our dogs have a ‘talk’ with us on the phone. Sister was far away and both doggies were here…her dog did the same thing, but cried piteously for her after wards. Made sister cry too…MJF went to the window to see where *she* was! (They were only about 3 or 4 months old…)

I have not ever heard of a black moon, interesting.

Clyde I hope your vet vists go better and that you too will feel better.

POTP to all and hugs and purrs too…and lots of fervent pawyers.

We’re purring really hard for your mom! We hope she is home soon and taking care of herself.
We were lucky to experience the total eclipse! Mom Paula looked up her horoscope and the reaction to the eclipse and she read “Astrology King noted that for Pisces, the solar eclipse is a time of manifestation, and drawing on natural talents will deliver long-term success and happiness for the fish.”

We hope Layla is well enough to come home soon, Clyde. It sure sounds like a lot of tough stuff going on right now for her, and all of you. So we send much love as always, and big purrs for some really good things ahead. We just bought Black Cats Tell All, and tweeted about it. 🙂

Ugh, just tried leaving a comment but it wouldn’t go through. I am sooooooooo worried about you!!! Tried calling you 2 (maybe 3 times) around 5pm yesterday. Recording said line was busy, maybe you were talking to hubby then? Praying you are ok! Keeping you in my heart/thoughts/prayers and might try to call you later. Please TAKE GOOD CARE!! And…thank you for sharing our review! xoxo

Miss Layla, and Mr Clyde. Hang in there these are as you say momentous times. Mum never feels she is good enough but I guess you say she is, she just needs to believe it.

Cats NEED to go to the vet Clyde. Man up, Cat Up and you will be good as new!
Layla – get well. OK Simply GET WELL.

I hope your human feels better soon! I wish she was at a hospital I could visit – I would love to come and give her some of my purr therapy and happy paws in person. Since we are on different sides of the U.S., it will have to be virtually, though.

P.S. My human disagrees with the part about the deepest fear is not being inadequate… because being inadequate is TOTALLY her deepest fear! (Maybe it’s a Cancer thing.) When she feels powerful and confident is where she is most comfortable – but she has a hard time getting there.

I’m so sorry that your mom had to go to hospital and we ctoss all paws and fingers that she is home and together with you soon….
we also hope the mama can lose something what is with her for her whole life, she said now is the right time to make a change…
