Be a Pal and Join the Shelter Showdown

The PAL – Pets Add Life campaign is designed to demonstrate the joys and benefits of pet ownership to promote increased pet adoption and responsible pet ownership. Now, you can be a pal and help your local shelter win much needed funds, easily and it’s free!

Three years ago on a crisp autumn day I brought home a one-eyed kitten no one wanted. I wasn’t sure I wanted him either. My beloved 16-year-old cat had recently died and her Siamese brother Merlin was grieving. The plan was to foster but before long, fate had other plans. I also brought home his shelter roommate, an unsocialized 12-year-old cat who had been at the shelter over a year. No one really wanted him. The three cats bonded almost instantly and the rest is history, There never seems to be the perfect time to adopt and yet it turned out for these two cats to be the purrfect time to be adopted.

For dogs and cats who are labeled “special needs,” getting adopted is even harder. This is why I’d love it if you voted every day in

The wonderful people at Pets Add Life (PAL) are giving away a total of $25,000 to three lucky Petfinder-affiliated shelter rescue organizations!

The Grand Prize is $15,000, of which $10,000 will go toward a community-wide adoption event to celebrate PAL’s “Get a Pal For Your Pet Day” on November 19.

The Grand prize winning shelter will also get $5,000 cash! Second and third place animal shelter winners will receive $5,000 donations from PAL.

You can vote once a day from now through October 4th to help your favorite shelter win! The winners will be announced the week of Oct 7th!
