The lovely folks at Nekochan Enterprises — creators of our favorite Neko Flies cat toys — recently sent us their new cleverly designed and cozy plush pet bed /hideaway Neko Nappers They’re purrfect for winter napping. Odin, our #1 products tester jumped inside as soon as I assembled the Neko Napper and promptly dozed off on the job.

The simplicity of the design which looks like a classic log cabin/dog house is sheer genius. The Neko Napper has four walls, a cloud-like pillow, a roof which folds flat and attached via a zipper and/or velcro strips. Total assembly took 30 seconds and so convenient if you need to travel with it.

The most amazing testimonial is from the unlikeliest source, our dear Gris Gris who had a sudden appointment at the Rainbow Bridge. He never went anywhere near a cat bed, hideaway or even a box. He enjoyed the freedom of an open air cushion or arm of a sofa. One evening few weeks ago, my husband pointed at the Neko Napper with shocked look on his face. We both couldn’t believe our eyes. Gris Gris was happily curled up inside the Neko Napper. Finally, a pet bed he felt safe in. But this doesn’t have a happy ending. Territorial Odin caught one look of GG in his hideaway and bulldozed his way inside driving GG to exit with a high-pitched squeal. Sadly he never had the nerve to go inside again. Cats don’t feel guilt and Odin continues to enjoy his Neko Napper. Merlin kindly tested the cushion but one sniff of eau de Odin and he knew better than to move in on Odin’s turf.
