One cat famous for his adventures, is our wild one-eyed boy, Odin who has a mancat crush on Lulu!
Odin streaked across the lawn chirping with glee. He always announces himself whether he’s caught something or not. This week, a freshly caught mole dangled froml his mouth. I catch and release as many prey as I can but sometimes Odin gets lucky. He brought his prize to leafy spot under a tree, his fur bristling with excitement. Normally, I leave him alone but this time I was curious to observe from a discrete distance. A few crunches later, he’d disposed of his meal with artful and efficient elegance, as cats have done for thousands of years.
A few minutes later, in the glorious late afternoon light called the golden hour or “magic hour” in photography, a more genteel scene unfolded. Merlin sniffed and strutted taking in the lush scents of his 19th autumn. Yes, Merlin’s 19th birthday is on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd so pencil your calendar!
