Mancat Monday: Woodstock & Back to the Garden
Us older boys have been enjoying hanging in the circular memorial garden Layla planted in the spring for Merlin’s sisfur, Angel Coco. The massive tree root is Domino’s favorite place to groove on the earth energies. We know nothing lasts for forever and we will end up as stardust. What’s important is to keep on track of what matters most. It’s easier to do when we can stay in touch with the natural cycles of nature. It’s a very feline thing to do and another reason you humans love us. How to you connect with nature?
Peace, love & purrs forever,
Merlin, Gris Gris, Domino & Odin
This week marks the anniversary of Woodstock and get us in the mood, to get back to the garden, give a listen (ad-free) to James Taylor singing the classic Joni Mitchell song.
We are stardust
We are golden
And we’ve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning
Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe it’s the time of man
I don’t know who I am
But you know life is for learning

I still miss Merlin, his wisdom, his beauty and his being a rock star cat.

The garden is so gorgeous. It looks like a peaceful place to go and relax. We can see why the kitties want to spend time there. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo.

Thanks for the song, I missed Woodstock by about 9years, but have friends that lived it.
Beautiful idea and garden, I can see why the boys love it. Her spirit probably is still there. Wish I had had a space to do that.
When my Mother was still in my life, she has a garden like that, not the equal of yours but 3 of my dogs are buried there along with my guinea pigs and I feel a sense of peace, especially by my last dog. I had him along with my 8 cats. Last dog for me.
Off the track yet again, this post is simply wonderful in all ways.

Beautiful garden, dear friends! We can see that it would be a terrific place to sojourn with nature. We’re fortunate enough to have some woods and trails nearby, and we can head there to get back to nature. 🙂

Mom loves to nurture her garden flowers. Right now they are on autopilot but Mom says that’s OK cuz it’s a bit too hot to do much more than water. Merlin I bet you love this part of your garden.

What a beautiful garden! We don’t have that in the city, sadly, but we do have a balcony and I have filled it with petunias, sunflowers, roses, trees, dahlias, herbs, and anything else I can fit in pots. I even have cucumbers and pumpkins growing on the railings. You’re so lucky to enjoy such a beautiful place!

Merlin you look magnificent there in the garden where your sister’s vibe is strongest…….you look good magnificent Merlin. My Mom’s brother went to Woodstock and had wanted Mom to go with him (on the back of his motorcycle!) but she politely declined. Needless to say she’s regretted it ever since. HAHAHA Anyway, enjoy your week Merlin and please tell your brothers to enjoy getting “back to the garden”……where mother nature reminds us we are ONE with her.

Oh Pam, what fun that would have been but weren’t you like five years old 😉

Such a beautiful memorial for mewz sister Coco. I have no doubt she will be waiting for mew at the gate of the Bridge, especially excited to see her birth bro Merlin whenever it is mewz time to take the journey. I have lost many friends and my own sister Černy in the past year- it is comforting to know we will all be together again one day, forever young and healthy.
