Litter Spinner Giveaway
A new spin on a cat litter box? The Litter Spinner is ideal for special needs cat guardians and one lucky reader will win one (valued at $99.00). Before we say more, we have winners to announce for our past two giveaways. The winner of catnip toys from Violetta Designs is Laila & Minchie. The winner of a Kitty Kuddly is Caren Osrin Gittleman, who chose the tie-dye purple fabric. Congratulations to our winners. Look for an email from Layla.
When we were approached to do a review for a Litter Spinner, there were mixed feelings. We are staunch uncovered litter box advocates but what appealed to us were the possibilities for cat lovers with special needs. What if someone blind, in a wheel chair or can’t crouch down to scoop cat litter? Self-cleaning litter boxes don’t always work and still require crouching. Why deny the pleasures of living with a cat just because of certain limitations? So we agreed and here’s our scoop on the Litter Spinner.
- The litter box requires assembly. Being hopeless with instructions, hubby quickly assembled the parts made of durable and recycled polypropylene.
- Odin, our # 1 tester was curious about the neutral colored box with a small opening. Our other cats were not curious.
- Both the opening and litter box are small and not ideal for large cats.
- With one spin, clumps of urine and feces are gathered in the black collector tray. It easily pulls out like a drawer and easily dumped into waste container.
- Easy to wipe down interior with a cloth. For occasional thorough cleaning of the interior will require some dis-assembly.
If you have a cat who doesn’t mind a covered box, isn’t a huge Maine Coon or other large breed cat this is a good option. If hate scooping litter or have any limitations to do so, this is worth checking out. For more info visit Litter Spinner
To enter to win a Litter Spinner simply leave a comment at this post anytime before 11:59 PM EST September 6, 2012. The winner will be announced next Friday. Good Luck!

I don’t know if my cats would use it. I have one of my own, and fosters, all rescue cats, and they are quite timid. Good idea, though.
Fur Everywhere
Something like this would be perfect for me as a cat owner because I have very limited sight (10/750 in “good” eye) and chronic pain, which makes squatting, getting up and down on the floor, and bending over difficult. Maybe we will win this so we can try it out and see how it works! 🙂
The Island Cats
We are uncovered box cats…so we won’t enter the giveaway. But we think this could be a great option for kitties who don’t mind being covered when they go!
Three Country Cats
This is a great solution for those who have trouble scooping out little boxes!

It might work well for my small cat.

I am always on the hunt for a new litter pan, especially one I don’t have to scoop.

OMG…so cool. Baby would love this. my bigger cats torture her when she’s in the ltter box. they wouldn’t go in this.

Princess and Queenie would love to win this. Their owners would also like them to win it since the current litter box is in the living room!

I don’t think we would go for that tiny entry so don’t enter us into the drawing. Interesting idea though. Never seen a little box like that. We just like the old fashioned kind. Have a super week end.

Yay for Caren! That Kitty Kuddly is great!
Our guys are pretty big (especially Moosey), so you don’t have to enter us in this drawing. But some lucky (smaller) cat is going to be loving that prize!

YAY!!! I am so excited that we won the Kitty Kuddly!!!! Thank you!!!
About the spinner, I am as bad as Ingrid…I thought of “salad spinner” lol….
We have our litter in a covered cabinet so we are all set but good luck to all who enter!

I’m disabled and the hardest thing to do is bend over. I’d love to try this, my cats use any kind of litter box. Against popular theory on closed litter boxes, they always use those first.

My cats seem fine with a covered box. I use natural corn litter so there’s no clay dust — is there some other reason why you are against the covered box? I have one male cat who will sometimes stand up when he goes. I was so tired of cleaning pee off the wall, so I got the covered box. Should I not be using it?
Glogirly and Katie
Claustrophobia is Katie’s middle name…but we wish everyone else good luck!

I have mixed feelings about covered litter boxes but we have a new kitten and it may not be bad to try with him.

I would love to give this a try. We have 5 indoor cats and lol, I’m sure this would simplify my cleaning tasks.

Interesting spin on this review (sorry – just couldn’t help myself!). I know you’re not a fan of covered boxes, and neither am I, but I hadn’t thought of that aspect. Good point. I’d be curious to hear whether Gris Gris, Domino or Merlin eventually checked it out.

Darn. I am a huge Maine Coon. 🙂
I prefer to have the Rumbleparents scoop my box anyhow. It makes them appreciate me more 😉

Hmmm, I haven’t seen this litter box before and I’m a “cruiser” of new litter boxes! Would love to sample one!
