Every year since beginning this blog in 2011, we’ve loved getting our Halloween groove on. So much so, there are dozens of spooktacular posts in our archives like:

Halloween remains a favorite holiday and while I’m not a huge fan of cats in costumes of any kind, there are exceptions. This year with my elderly cats not in the mood to dress up, I decided a festive orange vest would suffice. Clyde has never worn a harness or sweater, let alone a costume but he took to it instantly.

Meanwhile, Domino, who was recently diagnosed with cancer wanted to go out but we can’t risk having him outside unsupervised so we used a harness and leash. He’s always loved soaking up tree roots energy and enjoyed this mossy spot. It seemed to rejuvenate him.

In a full circle moment, Odin pranced by. I wonder if Odin remembered the leash. We used it when he was a kitten and met Domino for the first time. Domino was still an outdoor feral and ran away in fear when the bold Odin ventured near. He refused any notion of dressing up.

We shared tons of fabulous cats on our Instagram stories at @BlackcatsofIG from funny costumes to festive photography. It was hard to choose but our winner for the King of Pumpkins is Carl with sidekick Jude @carlandjude.
