Forever Paws Review & Giveaway
Cat lovers tend to have big hearts. The thought of losing a beloved cat to kitty heaven is a sad reality many of us know only too well. Death is an uncomfortable subject made more bearable if not downright joyous by one little book. We loved Forever Paws (beautifully written and illustrated by Christine Davis) so much we got all leaky-eyed and Odin had to take over the review.
Not only did Chris send us her book but included a beautiful card that made us feel very special. We decided to take some photos of the book in the garden and Odin eagerly volunteered to check out the cover.
This looks good. Our favorite colors. Cute cover. Let’s get a little closer…
We loved the colorful pages filled with drawings of angel pets and what happens when us critters go the heavenly fields…
up there. Reading about it made me feel warm and smooshy. It’s feels good to know, everything is okay there for us critters and love lives on forever. If you have ever lost a beloved pet or know someone who has, this book will help heal the sadness with a special paw print on your heart. It’s like magic.
Layla left the book outside to upload the photos. A little later our cat daddy, who never reads cat books, brings the book inside and is all leaky-eyed from reading it. He gives it a big thumb’s up. I give it our highest rating of four big paws. You’ll want to share it with any pet lovers of any age.
If you’d like to win an autographed copy of Forever Paws, simply leave a comment at this post anytime until 11:59pm Saturday, April 21, 2012. The winner will be announced next Sunday.
You may order a copy from Amazon (in our sidebar) or from Lighthearted Press website. We highly recommend having a copy to keep on hand for anyone who might need sudden comfort at their time of loss.

Now this is one I wasn’t sent to review but would love the opportunity to read it. As much as I am certain this will tear me apart thinking about my beloved Angel Bobo, I would love to read this.

Layla, thank you very much for your warm words about my book, Forever Paws – I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I absolutely love Odin, and I agree with Ingrid – that last photo is a winner! Maybe my angel kitties were doing a flyover.
Thank you, again…hugs to you and Odin.

Hi Chris, thanks so much for stopping by! I think you may be right about Odin and the angel kitties.

Hi Layla, Thanks for commenting on the LOLSpot. I never use pictures of anyone’s cats without first asking PURRmission. If you would like me to LOL any or all of your cats, please let me know. Just leave another comment on my blog if so.
The only difficulty I would have is that I can’t use pictures that you have already captioned in any way.
I think cat blogs are another way to deal with the loss of a pet. And it’s so wonderful that we have these time capsules of them forever!

mom says we may have to get that – and maybe a few copies for our friends….

I’ll have to look this author up on the web. She sounds very interesting.

I have been looking for something to send to a couple of friends who recently lost their fur babies.
This looks perfect. Please enter me so I can pass it along. Plus I’m the mother of four fur babies, one of which may be crossing the rainbow bridge sooner than I would like.
Thank you
Bernadette
We agree about this book, and all of Christine’s books. I knew my cats weren’t the only ones to appreciate books too! Please don’t enter us, we have our special copy. Thanks for the lovely review.

If I were to win this book, I would read it then donate it to the library at my local school for the children to read. It sounds lovely.

Dealing with the grief of losing a beloved pet is always so difficult. Dealing with grief is even harder. It would be a real blessing to have a book that would help in explaining to my youngest grandchildren when one of our pets die. Your book would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to have a copy of this book — looks like it might be a book to have several copies on hand. I have a houseful of pets and am also a pet sitter — and you just never get over the loss when they get their wings.

There is nothing like finding comfort from someone that truly understands how much it hurts to lose someone you love especially if that someone is an animal. This looks and sounds like a wonderful read and a gift that could be shared with someone that needs support during a time of need. We would truly love to win this lovely book. Thanks Odin for the wonderful review! Luvs Skeeter and Izzy >^@@^< reading glasses on!

Recently one of the dogs I petsit for was put to sleep. Seeing her brother alone in the yard looking for her was heart-breaking. Knowing that one day they will find each other again is reassuring.
A book like this is a comfort for those going through a loss. Thanks for sharing!

What a lovely review. That last photo of Odin is a greeting card in the making.
Don’t enter us in the giveaway, we already have this wonderful book, and we love all of Christine’s books.

What a lovely review! Even Odin’s given it his “Odin Sniff of Approval”…..it really sounds like a darling and dear book. Thanks for telling us about it! Love the colorful cover and cute illustrations.

Absolutely LOVE her books, and have sent many home with clients who have lost their pets. Even if I don’t win the giveaway, I’ll be sure to add this one to my shelf. <3
