February Pet Holidays For Cat Lovers: Year of the PIG & Bonus Graphics
It’s a wildly fun February of Pet Holidays For Cat Lovers by Layla Morgan Wilde. Its a jam-packed roster of holidays this month plus a few bonus ones for fun.
It’s the dead of winter and I think we can all use a dose of levity. If you’re feeling the winter blues or if your cats are going squirrely may I suggest our Cure For Cats With Cabin Fever
We can expect a fresh whoosh of energy on the new moon, Feb. 4 which is the beginning of the Chinese New Year. The 15 day celebration ushers in the year of the pig. The pig has been a symbol of luck, fertility and abundance in many cultures. Hello Piggy Bank. Making bacon. Saving someone’s bacon. May you be as happy as a pig in you know what this year.
Some of you requested our entire 2019 calendar in one pdf but that won’t be possible with this version. To create something unique from scratch takes 8+ for each month. That doesn’t include bonus graphics or other blog content. By offering one month at a time, I can include up to the minute, timely additions reflecting current events and other goodies that no other calendar has AND for free. Consider it our love letter to you dear reader.
Subscribers with get bonus art work and a full sized version in a PDF today, so do join the fun. If you sign up any time in February, please email us info@ catwisdom101.com to request the PDF.
Not mentioned in the calendar but included is our winter safety graphic. Last week there were separate news reports of several dogs, a horse and a man all luckily rescued after falling through thin ice. Play it safe. Hypothermia sets in within 15 minutes and can be deadly.
One of the most important messages in a month of love and romance is the importance of Spay/Neuter. It may still be winter but kitten season is almost all year round in milder areas. Beat the Heat or “Fix by Five” (by 5 months of age) is good advice. More about that later in the month but here’s a new graphic to share now.

What a wonderful calendar we all love it. Thanks fur the reminder on Love Your Pet Day and Spay and Neuter reminders. We are all “taken care of” and Dad reminds others of the importance of preventing more kittens than can find homes.

These are great cold weather tips – and yes, it does get awfully cold here in southern California – maybe not snow cold, but cold enough to take precautions.
One correction – it’s fix by five months, not five weeks. (Which, incidentally, was when I was spayed.) The minimum spay and neuter for kittens is two months/ two pounds.

We love your monthly calendars, Layla and Clyde! And those pro tips are awesome. We’re not allowed outside, but our humans always bang on the hood of the car before starting it!
