Cha Cha Cha Changes
Welcome to Mondays with Merlin, when I shoot the breeze about life. We’ve weathered the storm after Hurricane Irene, and I was thinking about the winds of change. Humans often resist change until they’re forced to. Cats, being creatures of habit, don’t care for change either, except maybe having their kitty litter changed. Change can be scary, but in hindsight, it usually ends up being for the best (like going to the vet) and wasn’t that scary after all.
If you’re in a situation you don’t like, change it. If you can’t change it, change your reaction or cattitude about it. Remember…

Whew… it’s just been so hectic the past few days that it really is nice to be back enjoying some sage words from the esteemed Merlin…. that is something I don’t want to change! But, sometimes as a human, when you make a conscious decision to change your life, scary or not, it can ultimatley be the most rewarding and exhilirating decision you ever made!!
Meows and purrs and happy to be back on dry ground!

Hmmm. we’ll have to eat a caterpillar and get back to you on that.

I think one of the reasons I feel so connected with cats is that like them, I don’t like change. Which is a little ironic, because most of the change in my life has always been for the better.

What a great quote! Glad you made it through the hurricane. We have tons of “cleanup” to do outside, but feel fortunate. Our neighbors had an entire tree come donw, fortunately didn’t hit anyone’s house.

Oh so true! Cats don’t have hindsight, but we can all watch the butterflies 🙂

But I’m a cat! I’m genetically programmed to HATE change…

This is another thing cats and humans have in common 😉

I love that quote! But hey, I’m a big fan of normal too!
boomermuse
Brian, thanks. We could use a whole lot of normal after a week of weirdness.

Cha cha cha Merlin! Hope they enjoyed. Our cats slept like dead logs the first half, (the morning we were all so sleepy we couldn’t get out of bed, then wandered around the house. They looked out the window when the wind blew. Later, they watched the mouse under the stove.
About 4 p.m. it was calm. 2 dozen sparrows and 3 squirrels hit the driveway and the field stone in the backyard, looking for food. A feeding frenzy before the wind hit.

Kathryn, so glad you got the tail end. We didn’t hear a peep from any birds here during the storm but the cicadas went crazy.

that is some excellent advice. Change IS good and ultimately refreshing!

Oh Merlin, as usual you distribute your wisdom with such class! You’re right of course about butterflies – a perfect example of one thing we cats would certainly miss if change was absent in the world………Happy Monday Merlin!
