If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Happy Caturday cat lover friends! Cat pop culture goes frothy today. If you like to start your day with a coffee, these catty coffee creations will wake you up with wow! Catuccino, anyone?

A friend in Australia told me it’s all the rage to compete in more and more sophisticated latte artistry. The hyper-realistic designs showed up in Japan a couple years ago from @dongurinekobei No surprise there. Japan is usually at the vanguard of cat culture.

Just when I think I jaded about cat pop culture, something new pops up. Will You Be A Cat? is a beauty mask that turns the user into a cat.

pure smile-will you be a cat-facial mask

It’s official! “Cat cafe” has entered the Oxford dictionary:

  • cat cafe, n.: a café or similar establishment where people pay to interact with cats housed on the premises.
  • A fictional cafe, Central Perk from the show “Friends” where Lisa Kudrow sang her iconic song “Smelly Cat” has come full circle. On Wednesday, during her concert in L.A. cat lover Taylor Swift invited Kudrow on stage during to sing “Smelly cat.” Silly or crazy brilliant like a fox?

  • The lyrics are a wake-up call for vet visits and maybe a change of diet. Probiotics, anyone?

Chorus:
Smelly cat, smelly cat what are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, smelly cat it’s not your fault…

They won’t take you to the vet.
You’re obviously not their favorite pet.
You may not be a bed of roses,
And you’re no friend to those with noses.

Smelly cat, smelly cat what are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, smelly cat it’s not your fault!

Louise persian shelter cat

A frothy looking cat named Louise aka Latte needs a home. She’s a Persian who was was left at the front door of the New Rochelle Humane Society with a note that she had a stuffy nose and needed medicine. Her badly matted fur was the result of poor grooming. A lion-cut gave her a new look and new lease on life. All she needs now is a new home. Update: She was adopted.

When I met her last week, she was feeling fine, out her cage for little exercise, quite sweet and very dainty. Louise is about 5 years old and front-paw declawed. Purebred cats are available in shelters but Persians require regular grooming.
