Cattiest Writers Scoop
So, I’m sitting having an iced coffee on the porch reading the NY Times Magazine (Yeah, we get the Sunday Section delivered on Saturday in Westchester County) when I blink and splutter, whaa… The Cat Writers’ Association? I’m a member and I’ve been pulling my hair out getting my contest entry forms ready. Last year, I won their coveted Muse Medallion for best color photography. I’m rightfully proud of the CWA members but cattiest writers? I think not. We love cats and there is nothing catty about it. But thank-you New York Times magazine for giving our little group a chance to shine and for giving this ex-pat Canadian the best Canada Day present. CWA.org

Hairless Cat
Hi Layla,
Congratulations on the Muse Medallion for best color photography.
Glad your group got a mention in the New York Times Magazine.
Exposure in this case is a good thing – “catty” or not. 🙂

Katie doesn’t seem to have a problem being called catty. Go figure.

Impressive PR on part of the CWA to get this placement, even if, like you, I would have wished for a better headline!

PR is PR and just getting the CWA name out there in a venerable institution like the NY Times is good. That’s why I included the CWA link.

My human always feels a little strange when she tells people she’s a member of CWA – well, it’s not so much that she feels strange, but that other humans look at her strange. And then she tells them I blog and they look at her even weirder!
My human has a lot in her life that needs explaining. You would think the cat thing would be the least of them.
