Cat Food For Thought: Pet Food Label Art, Wit & Wisdom by Warren Dotz and Masud Husain is a new book jam-packed with fab vintage cat food label art and fun kitty quotes. The colorful and quirky art works spans the Mad Men era of the late ’50s to the ’70s and is from the private collection of Warren Dotz. The book chronicles the heyday of hundreds pet food brands, most which have gone the way of the dodo. Even familiar brands like Friskies show an unfamiliar history. Who knew they were once owned by Carnation Milk? Some labels are truly odd and it’s no wonder some of the companies are out business. Kidney flavor anyone? And just what is meat flavor? Wait, don’t tell me. I don’t want to know. You will want to know the authors have collaborated on several book on books on advertising, design and commercial label art. 
We’re huge fans of vintage feline art and ephemera and think this book is pop culture catnip!

The very next time I read a blog, Hopefully it won’t fail me just as much as this particular one. After all, I know it was my choice to read through, nonetheless I truly thought you would probably have something useful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of crying about something that you could possibly fix if you weren’t too busy seeking attention.
