Purrfect or Imperfect: Which Thanksgiving Do You Prefer?
Purrfect or Imperfect: Which Thanksgiving Do You Prefer? by Layla Morgan Wilde
This is super short since you have better things to do. I was baking a cake last night to bring to our friends Thanksgiving dinner today. It is no doubt tasty but not pretty enough to post on Instagram which got me thinking. What really matters? Advertisers only share photo-shopped to death perfection but at what cost to humanity?
A reader left me a comment on Facebook about how sad it was that I posted my curated Amazon List of awesome cat product deals and said she missed my dreamy photos. Sigh.
Well, you decide which kind of Thanksgiving you prefer. And by the way, I prefer you just the way you are. Keep sharing, keep visiting and keeping it real.
Much love and purrs of gratitude,
Layla,

we are way late getting to read the blog!
We know for absolute certainty that imperfection is indeed perfection.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

We’ll go with imperfect! Just getting trying to be perfect out of the way makes it much more enjoyable, no?
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Definitely not purrfect!
2 of my sweeties are always on the counter “helping”.
I liked your shopping post, don’t let the nay sayers get you down!

Thanks Connie! I learned a long time ago that you can’t please everyone but I welcome different viewpoints π xo

Neither Christmas or Thanksgiving celebrated here as such, but we do celebrate each day that nature is perfect yet doesn’t judge the imperfect and just lets life get on with living.
Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving, no matter how the cake comes out π

Happy Thanksgiving! Iprefer the imperfect but tasty. Sure those picture perfect things look nice but really who in the heck has the time? Now for us it is hubby, me and the cats and an old blind dog.
Hubby spent time with some old friends last night playing cribbage until the wee hours. We had intended to go out, but plans change. I actually had a small turkey thawing since we eat it frequently, and now it is in the roaster. Sweet potatoes are cooking and we will have a few other things. None will be perfect but we will be full and warm. A blessing and we are thankful.
Have a wonderful day Layla and family!

Ellen, that sounds like a purrfect turkey day to me! xoxo

Perfect or not as long as we are safe and loved! I hope that you are having a great Thanksgiving with your 2 legged and 4 legged family and friends.
Layla
Thank you and yes, it was lovely all around xo

Cooked lunch and dinner yesterday for my son’s friends…Friend-giving day and today cooking again….I don’t mind since the oven heats up this tiny apartment and my 3 furbabies love the heat….I like that lemon ricotta cake! As far as my feral colonies, they got leftover chicken and eat real quick! Happy Thanksgiving to All!
Layla Morgan Wilde
Happy Thanksgiving and I’m so glad the feral got some turkey! xo

We barely celebrate, having no family in the area. I hate all holidays equally, since they are meaningless without family, and thanks to ever-increasing commercialism, but wish everyone who still finds such things worth the bother a very happy holiday season (even though Christmas has been touted since August). I am most thankful for my cat, which you all, doubtless, will understand. Hugs to all!
Layla Morgan Wilde
I agree about the commercialization of the holidays. The Internet made it worse. More than ever thank goodness for our cats xo

I had some disasters too…but they still were yummy and Pipo tried to steal some of the proffered (people) meal on the table. I guess he prefers the impurrfect too, MOL!
Of course the pups were underfoot to snag up any oopsies that the peeps might spill…and trusty me they scored, esp in the kitchen!
And since I have to go to work, for second shift today there is no real thanksgiving meal here, we are enjoying yesterday’s leftovers:))

And by the way:
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Aw, the pleasures of oopsies. Lucky dogs! I much prefer leftovers too xo
