We’re used to the very best. Odin our #1 pet product tester has seen it all, so when a flat box arrived from Peach Industries he didn’t raise a whisker. The box contained a stylish, eco-friendly cat lounger in its own burlap tote bag and a t-shirt for me. I’d never seen Odin go so crazy happy over a box or a burlap bag. It turns out the Kitty Lounger was even better. Designed by California-based husband and wife team Georgia and Mike Barbash, the multi-purpose pet lounger is the cat’s meow thanks to a clever design by Mike, an industrial designer and animal know-how from Georgia, a vet tech.

Precision crafted from Pure Bond birch plywood (sustainably grown in the USA) using with formaldehyde-free soy based glue that is safe for both pets and people. It’s idiot-proof to assemble without tools in seconds. The Kitty Lounger fabric is 100% cotton grown and woven in the USA and is machine washable. Best of all, everything about this small family company 100% American. To be frank, I’m tired of cheap products coming from suspect sources in China. I’d rather pay more for something family, pet and planet friendly. Georgia sent me one of their fab organic cotton t-shirts and it’s destined to be a summer favorite. It feels as soft as Merlin’s fur which is purrfect! And my t-shirt design matches my Kitty Lounger. Check out the fun t-shirt designs.

The Kitty Lounger is light and yet strong enough to have two cats lounge on it and I confess using it as a footstool. It’s practical as a “step stool” to give elderly cats a leg up to a bed or window sill. It can be easily packed flat to travel on an RV or vacation home and used in just about any room in the house. Merlin demonstrates the easy way to get off the bed.

A kitty lounger is pure luxury poolside or on a patio. We will be using it in our summer living room aka our covered wrap-around porch.
