Happy Monday cat lovers. This is a feline fireside chat with your host Merlin.

To warm these old bones, I like sitting by the fire as cats have done through out the ages. Oh my fur and whiskers, I’m wise enough to know to I’m not the first or last cat to get too close to a flame. Younger cats like Odin allow curiosity to lead them into situations a little too hot to handle.

Odin quickly realized he preferred walking on the safe side.

Every cat is a king by their own fireside, as much as any monarch in his throne but if you can’t take the heat, get out of kitchen or something like that. Mmm that cozy warm fire has coddled my brain. Have a great safe week!

We love our fireplace too! We have a story about our fireplace. When Wally was a young cat, he actually walked into the fireplace when the fire was going (we have a gas fireplace). He walked all the way around to the back and then out…and didn’t get burned. The mom saw him do this but before she could react he was out. She had a heart attack!!

At the old house, where there was a working fireplace, Boodie once stood up and stretched herself across the fire screen! Luckily the fire was just embers by then. She is MORE than a few cards short of a full deck.
