Cats Meow On World Book Day
Cats Meow On World Book Day by Feline editor Clyde.
Hello dear ones on another Black Cats Tell All Monday. May I say how spiffy I feel or should I say sunny? Ah, the sun puddles feels so good. Yes, I do believe we won’t be having any more snow. Look what magically bloomed; an alchemy of sun, and the sunniest of flowers, daffodils. Just don’t nibble. They are toxic to cats.
There are odd, random holidays celebrated every day but no specific pet holidays today. But I couldn’t resist sharing or meowing about World Book Day. I often have my head in the clouds if not in a book. My fursibs will share about some other holidays and news.
Our cherry blossoms are in bud but a 5 measly minutes away, cherry blossoms popped over night. Go figure. The blossoming is so brief and there is no way to predict what the skies will be doing at peak times. Rain is coming mid week and by the weekend, this glorious show will be gone.
Savor what you can or carpe diem. Since I’m a night owl, I also say carpe noctem or seize the night. Take back the night and face our fears, the unexplored hidden side under the moon. Life is about duality: light and dark. It can’t always be sunshine, rainbows and catnip galore.
Go on, try something new. It also happens to be Take A Chance Day.
Layla and the boys enjoyed the cloudless skies while I prefered less outdoorsy activities.
Speaking of a breath of fresh , our featured adoptable is BOO who is in a foster home in Perth, Australia. @perthfosterkittens and our featured cat on Instagram this week.
In honor of our angel Merlin, I wish we could celebrate National Picnic Day. It’s still a bit nippy to dine al fresco, but Merlin was the king of picnics and connoisseur of blankies.
Odin is interested in International Nose Picking Day for obvious reasons. He always has dirt in his nose in the dirt from hunting in the garden. Layla has the thankless task of cleaning his dirty nostrils. Mind you, she cleans my ears and between my toes when kitty litter gets stuck. Actually she grooms me daily and brushes me several times a day. Brushing is bliss. Other grooming less so but you know how old men and old cats can be lax about such matters. White or light colored cats are easier to notice when look dirty. As filthy as Odin and Domino appear rolling in the dirt, they are spotless soon after. When any cat stops grooming, it’s a big warning sign that something is wrong. It could be an illness so please check with your vet.
Excuse me, I’d rather have my nose in a book. If you haven’t read mine ( I mean others) I will pawtograph it if you purchase directly. And last but methinks not last, t’is William Shakespeare’s birthday and Talk Like Shakespeare Day
Our weekly memorial garden progress report has little progress. Green somethings are sprouting and a marvelous mossy carpet is spreading.
Stay tuned for news of a very unexpected kind next week. Until then, all is well that ends well.
Love, Clyde, Odin and my too lazy to contribute fursibs, Domino and Nou Nou

It’s about time it warmed up around here, isn’t it, Clyde? Enjoy all sorts of things blooming, and those glorious sun puddles.

Our weeping cherry tree is still not nearly ready to blossom, but if it stays warm enough it may go ‘poof’ pretty soon. Last year it was in full bloom t this time…sigh…we are SO late! I have not done anything to my kitty memorial garden either…it needs to be taken apart and made over from scratch I think. It really is a big mess, having been neglected for many years…its covered in catnip, gone wild, and lots of periwinkle and ivy ground cover. There is a honeysucle and a clematis vine there too. And some blue bells and violas. All like a big jungle, full of weeds and old leaves. It daunts me and taunts me to even think about it.

We’re also at least two weeks late but this is a good time to clean up. It’s easier now, prune and pull out what you can 🙂

Oh talk like the Bardeth. If music be the foodeth of love, play on.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
The course of true love never did run smootheth.

Yes, spring sprung and it’s a good thing. Wonder what’s the news? Love Odin, Merlin and all cats/kats. Ched’s a love, as always. Love the growing memorial garden. Ched doesn’t read (yet), and frankly, I doubt he ever will. He doesn’t get boogers, but he gets knots in his fur. Maybe I will try a cat picture book. That might get him to read. If I can find him. It’s his afternoon nap, and I think mine, too. Until nappy time is over <3 <3 <3 and purrs.

Read to Ched 🙂 What do you mean by knots in the fur or are they mats?
Kathryn
oh just mats. Sorry, I was offline. Couldn’t get on.
Kathryn
Ah! All’s well that ends well. And better yet, welleth. Well, that was a surprise. Of course, I had knowneth at one timeth, that today was the Bard’s birthday, but in my busy-ness, I had forgottenith it. When something this way wicked comes, I’ll know it’s not a cat, although many thinketh it is. Nay, if If music be the food of love, play on.

Much love to Merlin, he was one of a kind. Much love to Odin, who is also one of a kind.
