Help Keep More Cats in Homes with #PreciousCat Cat Attract Litter & #Giveaway
There are two reasons for a cat to avoid the litter box.
1) A physical issue requiring medical attention
2) An emotional issue requiring changes in the environment.
Regardless of the cause, inappropriate litter box use or it’s avoidance is the #1 reason cats are abused or surrendered to a shelter where most end up being euthanized. It’s not a cat’s fault and it doesn’t need to be that way.
This post is one of our more personal ones for an unexpected reason. When we received a bag of Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Litter With Cat Attract, everything was normal. All our cats have meticulous litter box habits until one day a few weeks ago I noticed a bloodied, wet spot in the bed and then another. Merlin our 19-year-old cat with CKD dribbled urine everywhere except the litter box.
Naturally, we rushed him to the vet. It turned out to be a urinary tract infection (UTI) and he was placed on antibiotics. The incontinence continued and we placed puppy pads every where. Someone suggested diapers. No, it was time to try the Cat Attract™. We knew it would take time for the antibiotics to kick in and thought it would be wise to gradually introduce the Cat Attract™ to our numerous litter boxes. As a behaviorist, I cannot stress strongly enough the importance of the right litter box in the right location with the right litter.
Senior and geriatric cats or those with kidney disease need to have litter boxes they can easily climb in and out of and placed in convenient locations. I once had a client with a senior cat who had one little box in the basement. It was the human equivalent of a football field away. No wonder she had a problem.
Convenient isn’t always attractive. We have a litter box in our bedroom now. Maybe it’s not so beautiful but so what? At least it doesn’t smell. What attracted me to the Precious Litter Cat Attract™ was the subtle natural herbal smell and I wasn’t the only one. All the cats took to it immediately. Best of all, Merlin ambled over and did his business. I did a little happy dance and breathed a huge breath of relief. We went back to the vet for a follow-up urine analysis to be sure the infection was all gone. It was and Merlin has not had one out of the box mishap since.
Precious Litter Cat Attract™ clumps well and is 99% dust free. Clumping hard not only makes it easier to scoop but it locks in odors. The texture and particle size is on the smaller side which most cats prefer.

That sounds like it’s really helpful stuff. Luckily, we haven’t had any litterbox issues here, but we will definitely keep Precious Cat Attract Litter in mind, in case we ever do.

We don’t know much about litter and thought about this one but heard that clay is not supposed to be a good thing for kitties.

If we would need to we would put a litter box in the middle of the livingroom floor! Our babies will get whatever needs they might wind up having met fur sure.
This litter sounds interesting from the aspect of low dust if nothing else. My guys do not like the perfumy litters that are out there now but a natural herb scent might be ok with them.
Good luck to all!!

I actually might try this. we use precious cat litter because it’s the best deal around. amazon ships for free. I have a cat with psychological problems which leads to territorial urinating. he’s now on amitriptyline, but I’m still trying to make his environment more suitable to his condition.

Ellie would love to give this a try……….
