It’s a kind of Cats, Boxes, Videos, Best Testimonial Ever kind of Caturday.

It’s International Box Day. Your cat may be looking at you funny, slow blinking their thoughts, you human fools celebrate box day once a year but we celebrate everyday.

Fine. It’s also Father’s Day tomorrow or as it’s known at our house, Cat Dad Day. We think real men love cats and all good cat dads are cool. I suspect the coolest ones are black cat dads because we’re all about Black Cats Tell All since we launched our Kickstarter campaign this week, a nonprofit anthology of pawsitive black cat stories. We’ve been so focused on the Kickstarter, we’ve neglected funny feline caption contest (back next Wednesday) our huge giveaways. are still on with better odds of winning, but hurry to enter at the link.

And if you’ve never seen a video of me, here I am doing my thing for my Black Cats Tell All campaign on Kickstarter. Chris did a great job editing it, but I realize if I’m going to be doing more videos, I need to learn how to edit. It’s a mystery why I’m a whiz at photo editing but anything to do with videos sends me into panic mode. If you’re a psychiatrist, let me know. Meanwhile enjoy, make fun of me if you like, but support the cause because black cats matter.

    Mes refused to either get into a box or let Mommy take a picture of mes when she unceremoniously dumped mes in one — so mes not pawticipating. Now mes a little miffed that mes missed it!

    The boyz here, Cheddar and Mao, totally agree about boxes, and we even have a cathouse/cat tree, and one of the boyz is always in the box-like cathouse. It is a carpeted thing a neighbor left for the trash (about 100 pounds) so I hoisted it into my car. It has a carpeted roof (window height, out of which Mao looks out the window), a tree with a dangling carpeted ball they play with; the roof of the cathouse that Mao sits on and the cathouse, where both take turns sleeping.

    Happy Day for cats, black, white, Siamese, tux, ginger, tabby, marmalade, all cats.

    PS- we will be choosing one of the many pawesome rewards for the Kickstarter campaign in memory of our Panther sisfur Černy who sadly left too soon for the Bridge in 2012. She was a rescue who had been abused and suffered from panic attacks and PTSD. Black cats are amazing souls that we are committed to advocating for and helping, thank you for seeing the importance of publishing a book like this.

    Although we’re not box fans here, we still had fun for International Box Day! For a couple of years before she became a journalist, my human (who was a film school student) worked as an assistant film editor, and she loved it! The whole process of assembling a narrative and creating the right pacing was fascinating to her. If you think of editing film as more like editing a story or a book than editing a photo, you might be more comfortable with it.

      I didn’t know that about your human. The narrative and story is the easy part, it’s the techy part and developing an on camera style.We have a complete editing bay with final Cut Pro (hubby is a renowned documentarian) but prevent WW3 or divorce cannot work together!
