Will Three Times Be The Charm For #AdorableAdoptable Cat Kit?

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Chances are if you have a cat, you have photos of them on you phone. Perhaps, like me you have framed photos of them in your home. There’s one #AdorableAdoptable cat who has never enjoyed being loved in that way but she deserves it. Her name for now is Kit.

Kit #adorableadoptable cat

Over a year ago, I met Kit, a pretty, buff and white tabby at the New Rochelle Humane Society. You’d never know to look at her that she’d endured the horror of one of the worst hoarding incidents in New York. We’ll never how long she lived in that hellish house but she was estimated to be about 5 years old at the time of her rescue. Of the 60+ cats rescued, Kit adapted well to shelter life and as luck would have it, got adopted with another unrelated cat. All was well for a couple months and then the other cat began to bully Kit. A decision needed to be made and Kit found herself back in a shelter cage.

Again, she adapted well and the sweet gal got adopted. This time she was returned for peeing out of the box. Stress may have played a role but in her case, the real culprit was a UTI. After being treated for the urinary infection, she was placed on Hill’s® Prescription Diet® c/d Multicare Bladder Health Adult Cat Food. Cats at the shelter on special diets can’t be introduced to the cage-free rooms and must remain caged. So now she patiently waits to be adopted a third time. Will three times be the charm? Will her framed photo grace a special spot in her new home? Let’s share her photo to help it happens fast.

Did you know the #1 reason cats are surrendered or returned to a shelter is inappropriate litter box use?

To see more pics, to share or sponsor Kit, visit Kit’s Petfinder profile. Whether Kit stays on a prescription food or other diet will depend on a future veterinarian visit. The only thing for sure is: of all the hoarder rescues she’s one of only handful that remain at the shelter.

Special thanks to Leslie Howard, Kit’s favorite shelter volunteer for the pics.

Fate has a plan! She needs just the right home. We can’t understand people who give up cats for peeing outside the box, but maybe it was for the best in this case so she can find someone who will stick with her through anything. – Crepes.

Kit you are adorable and I hope and pray that now that you’re trying for the third time to get that “forever”, that the third time will be the CHARM……you certainly deserve to know some consistent love in a home where you can STAY. Paws crossed for success!

    Hugs, Sammy

I am so sad for Kit to have been returned twice, especially after her terrible time with the hoarder. I hope that her true home comes for her soon.

My human goes crazy when people want to give up their cats without trying to figure out the reason for the inappropriate elimination! Sometimes it’s something so simple – a UTI and some meds, moving the litter box to a different space – and often a cat’s life hangs in the balance… and there’s no reason for that.
