Vintage September Black Cat Art & How Aging Sucks

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Vintage September Black Cat Art

is a monthly feature of curated art from the past century. You’ll have to scroll down for the sucky part about aging.

This month is a glorious trio of magazine covers from 1896 to 1899. They sum up our philosophy at Cat Wisdom 101. We believe good art is timeless and stands the test of time. Cat love is timeless and the mania for cats long preceded the Internet. Cats are eternally cute, funny, entertaining and anthropomorphizing is nothing new. Black cats are adorable and adoptable.

This kind of fun imagery goes a long way to dispel to the negative evil stereotype. Do you agree?

If you haven’t stopped by our Black Cats Tell All community page of Facebook, please do and like us. We’ve been posting lots of goodies there and on Instagram which is why our blog posts are scarce. That and working like mad on our book with a hornet’s nest of issues.

Mercury in Retrograde is still on for another week. Sigh. Having communication break downs, tech meltdowns? Click on the link and find out why. This one is a doozy. Double, triple check everything and assume nothing. If a hundred things could go wrong in a day, 99 would. Having a la de da grand time? Don’t believe in the stars? Count your blessings.

In the middle of the madness, there was riotous fun at a cat cafe, cat rescue connections galore, a shelter opening and educational gold at a cat blogger conference in New York. Being treated to car service from the ‘burbs and a night at the hippest hotel was bonus.

But, being surrounded by a dense demographic of millennials hit me hard. This chick is more mother hen or in catspeak, a senior kitty. I know I look young for my age, but my bones and recovery time scream, antique, circa 1896!

How did that happen? More importantly, none of us have a moment to lose worrying, procrastinating or catnapping your dreams away, unless you’re 22.

More later, but after Meow Like A Pirate Day tomorrow, this ship will need to stay close to shore for the next month until our Black Cats Tell All book sails into harbor. Ahoy, dear cat lovers and see you soon!
