Unique Cat Books For Gift Giving curated by Layla Morgan Wilde

Looking for unique and thought provoking cat books? I put together a small collection of fun but meaningful cat books. Included are Amazon affiliate links.

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since everyone’s favorite book about Homer the blind black cat was published? Author Gwen Cooper has created an amazing 10th Anniversary Scrapbook. Homer was the first celebrity blind cat and his legacy remains strong as an advocate for adopting blind cats and black cats. Take a peek.

A purrfect companion for holiday gift giving. Homer and the Holiday Miracle: A True Story.

Gwen Cooper wrote a beautiful endorsement of my book and I’m proud to include it on this list. It’s the first book of positive black cat stories to defang negative superstitions and promote black cat adoption.

I recently received two review copies from Schiffer Publishing that really opened my eyes to the lives of cats and dogs in Cuba. Most Americans have not visited Cuba but as an ex-pat Canadian I have (Canadians visit Cuba for winter holidays like American go to Florida). The stunning photos by Jenny Parks show the varied daily life of Cuban cats and dogs. Both Cats of Cuba and Dogs of Cuba are hardcover coffee table books with heavy weight paper.

Our Odin of course preferred Cats of Cuba but we live in a democracy so he suggests buying one or both.

I fell in love with the Dalai Lama’s Cat book series in 2012. There were three books and one was as charming and insightful as the other. I never expected that author and Buddhist meditation teacher David Michie would write another one but he did. Oh what a treat! I was an early reader of The Dalai Lama’s Cat and The Four Paws of Spiritual Success. It revisits all the amusing characters while sharing innate wisdom.

All the books can be read individually but ideally they are best enjoyed sequentially. I’d begin with book one:The Dalai Lama’s Cat.

If you’re a fan of the massive best seller I Could Pee on This,

author Francesco Marciuliano has a new book out and it’s as hilarious. All Cats Are Introverts is funny because all cat lovers can relate to the quirky truth.

Feliz Navidad from Odin.
