Top 10 Cat Books of 2015

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Our Cat Wisdom Top 10 Cat Books of 2015 are selected from traditionally published books we’ve reviewed this year. Every year we read far more book than we review. To narrow down the list, we generally don’t review self-published or small press books, although there were some good ones like the cat story anthology Rescue Me. This year we are awarding only two Golden Purr awards one for fiction and one for nonfiction which we’ll announce next week. The books are listed in no particular order and all make excellent gifts for cat lovers.

A personal message from the editor.

Since it’s the eve of Hanukkah, I’m sharing one of several holiday-themed graphics and photo quotes I’ve been whipping up lately. The act of creating them is calming for me during a stressful time but there are so many, only some will be shared here. Some are on social or at Boomer Muse. Not all of them about cat.s. There are dogs, trees and fog or whatever enchants in the moment.
No matter what your spiritual beliefs, this year feels like a time to dwell in the light. To focus on what’s good and soul nourishing. To appreciate a kindness, no matter how small. These are dark, unsettling times in the world and it’s not an accident that all the books on our top 10 list are uplifting or humorous. Some people deal with anxiety or worry by escaping into thrillers, murder mysteries or darker genres. If that’s your bag, wonderful. Whatever you choose, do choose to read something. Reading remains an instant comfort, escape and adventure. There is a perfect one waiting for you.
Much love and light,
Layla
