Passover/Easter Peace, Love Cats For Ukraine

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Passover/Easter Peace and Love Cats by Layla Morgan Wilde

If we’ve ever needed more peace and love, it’s this year. With so much fear, hate, division in the world, let’s merge holidays and hearts into one. Happy Passover to our Jewish friends celebrating seders tonight and Saturday. Happy Good Friday and a Joyous Easter Sunday to those celebrating. Perhaps you have blended traditions as we do in our home or maybe you cats are pure Pagan and simply celebrate the joys of nature in spring.

Need a holiday card to share? These Easter cards designed by me are classic and pretty darn purrfect.

One note of caution: Please, please, please keep your cats away from lilies. Lilies Kill Cats

I was going to honor my Finnish and Swedish ancestors by sharing about Easter Witches with their cats again but ran out of time. Let’s just say, the roots of Paganism run deep under every religion.

Every year I love tweaking new from old and designed this new one of Odin.

I couldn’t resist making a new card from Odin’s classic Easter bonnet. He thinks it’s sacrilege since he’s Jewish. Well, to err is human and forgive Divine, right? Have you seen him waiting for Elijah at Passover?

And one vintagey new one

It’s rare for Easter and Passover to align so close together I thought the Bob Marley song for hope, redemption and freedom fits the bill but what really moved was John Lennon’s son Julian singing “Imagine” live for a recent Ukraine fundraiser. He’s never sung the iconic song publicly before. Can you imagine filling those footsteps but he did, beautifully with much needed hope and grace.

Sometimes the most helpful thing is staying grounded and not spinning out of control in fear or anger. IMAGINE PEACE

Be the light that lives in your heart. It’s beyond religion, ethnicity, ideology and borders.

I like painting Easter eggs but nothing like the spectacular Ukrainian eggs called pysanky with their intricate designs. They are hand-painted without stencils and have special meaning this year. The annual tradition will for obvious reasons be curtailed this year.

If you’d like to support Ukraine, you can sponsor a pysanky for as little as $5.00 from a wonderful initiative PYSANKY FOR PEACE

or purrrrchase a special limited edition t-shirt form our Meow Magic shop 100% of all proceeds to animal rescue in Ukraine.

There different styles and colors for men, women and children. I like the looser, more comfy fit than the one in the photo.
