We routinely receive parcels from our giveaway sponsors but one parcel made my heart flutter. I knew it contained a bowl made just for us by artist, Libet Henze from Far Ridge Ceramics who makes original, handmade ceramics in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. When she suggested inscribing the names of our four kitties, I waffled. How would I feel seeing Merlin’s name on a bowl after he died? She convinced me it could be a memorial to him and I agreed. I’m so glad I did.
My heart flip-flopped when I saw the beautiful bowl and I got leaky-eyed. As much as I love my bowls from Classy Cat, nothing beats the soulfulness of one-of-a-kind. After all, aren’t all our cats one-of-a-kind?
I loved the quote: One cat leads to another and of course seeing Merlin, Domino, Gris Gris and Odin inscribed. I found it too lovely with the cute fishies swimming in the bottom to use for food so I filled it with water. For Merlin, an old boy with kidney disease, lapped it up with gusto. I can’t help thinking he knew it had his name on it.

I let out a squeal when I saw this bowl!
What a unique idea! My husband is a wood turner and we have talked about making one-of-a-kind wooden bowls with animals names wood burned into them. Since we already make many one-of-a-kind bowls we thought it would be unique to add a pets name to them and sell them.
I would use this as a water bowl too. I would love to see my 4 kitties names on it! Thanks for the opportunity.
This is Beautiful work. It’s always nice to have special items to remind us of our present and passed furry companions. 🙂
What a beautiful way to remember the cats we have the privilege of caring for. One cat does lead to another…Phoebe * Phineas * Quincy
that bowl is beautiful, lucky kitties!
As an artist myself, this is inspiring all sorts of other cat oriented items. How beautiful to create something especially for our pets! <3
Beautiful! And SO special! I’d love to win one for my cats,
This bowl is beautiful and being personalised makes it even more beautiful!!!! Samone would LOVE this..she seems to like artsy things. It truley is amazing how it is personalized!!!
Princess and Queenie, my feline royalty, would love to win a personalized inscribed bowl with their names. Royalty demands the best! Libet Henze makes beautifully artistic cat bowls. I shared this on Facebook, tweeted it, pinned it too and liked your Facebook entry about it too on the Cat Wisdom 101 Facebook page. Thanks for offering this phenomenal gift for one of your readers just in time for the holidays.
I would put every one of our babies’ names on this bowl. <3 Love it! 🙂
It’s a perfect bowl for Domino,Gris Gris,Merlin,and Odin:))))
I had left a comment earlier, but I guess it was in the wrong place.A big thanks to Libet for showing Joe such kindness and for donating in his honor.Beautiful picture of you,Ms.Layla:)
Thanks, glad you came back!
What a lovely bowl. Thank you for the giveaway!
Beautiful…would make a wonderful gift for my daughter she has 3 cats……
What a lovely bowl!
Josie, Peaches, Eli and Paisley would love to eat from that bowl. They are waiting right now.
My cat, Snickets, would be
Honored to have your bowl!
What a lovely bowl and wonderful idea to inscribe we kitties names on it. My Mom would adore one to remember all of us.
What a beautiful bowl! I love that you have all your cats names on it (we also have a cat named Odin!). I think I would get “The Pratt’s Cats” put on ours if we won.
(we also “Liked” on Facebook)
What a beautiful bowl and story to go with it! We love the fact that you put water in it! The founder of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde, the late Christopher T. Cat, who passed before we moved to Smurfreesboro, passed away from kidney disease so we are always into things that work well for water. ::grin::
Our question would be this, would all of the Horde’s name fit? Zaphoid, StarWalker, Knives, Audrey, Rose & Thomas* or would it be better to just get The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde put on there if we were lucky enough to win?!
*short forms
That is gorgeous! Layla your cats deserve it!
Kisses

I would treat a bowl like this as a treasure to be displayed, an heirloom, of sorts. A bowl like this would have a very special place in my home.
I love the idea of having a beautiful, personalize bowl for my cat!
That’s a great bowl! Very beautiful.
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Beautiful and special like every kitty we have ever known and ever will know. Luvs Skeeter and Izzy >^..^<
What a loving memorial to the cats we love now and the ones we have loved and lost.
What a lovely idea!
These are great! They could become a family heirloom even!
I love that idea! Since cats are a part of our families, it makes to pass down heirlooms connected with them.
OH how beautiful. And yes everything is better with a bit of love added in!
And Miss Boo wonders who’s eye she caught????
🙂
Odin thinks Miss Boo is beautiful.
Hi Layla,
Wow, that is a beautiful personalized bowl. Love the coloring and inscriptions – professional and very artistic.
Merlin knows his name is on it but he’s also trying to drink down to get the fish 🙂
=^-^= Hairless Cat Girl =^-^=
I pinned it first off before I read the article. It’so beautiful.Something to treasure forever. I really want to win, not for me but for my Mother, I could give her a Memorial of her lost ones.
Very nice. I love one-of-a-kinds too!
What a great way to memorialze our companion animals!
Wow, what a beautiful bowl! Please enter us in the giveaway!!
What a great story and love the bowl!
Thanks for the opportunity.

That is such a classy bowl for some classy cats!
I would love to have a new water bowl for my cats!
Oh my. How beautiful. I don’t think I’d use it for kibble either. Two paws up.
How pretty! I know Misty would love a blue one to go with her eyes or purple to go with the rest of the kitchen. I’d totally use it for water too. We all need fish swimming at the bottom of our dishes!
the bowl is lovely – we would put water in it too so we could see the fish (though mom suspects Tim would just spend more time splashing in the dish). And she gives back too…..lovely!!
I would soooooo kill to have one of these custom made bowls!! This is EXQUISITE! Thanks for such a great give-away!
Since three of my four cats are over 10 years old this would be a great reminder of them in years to come.
The bowl would be a wonderful reminder of friends who have passed and I would inscribe it with the names of my husband’s and my cats who are still with us in our hearts every day when we see a shadow in the corner of a room or a movement we can’t explain in the middle of the night on the bed.
Beautifully said 🙂
The bowl is lovely. Would be great to have a “one of a kind” bowl at our house as well.
It’s amazing!!! Names inscribed on the bowl makes even more special. I would probably use it as a water bowl also since it would probably make me teary-eyed as well.
The bowl is beautiful and being personalised makes it very special.
very artful. i love products like this.
