Cats Understand Real Thanksgiving

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

Is it just me or does Thanksgiving feel different this year? Have we grown more compassionate enduring a pandemic or wary? Will we appreciate our loved ones more or decide to nix a holiday gathering? What do we really feel grateful for? I’ve blogged about Thanksgiving for over 10 years and didn’t want to do a same old, same old post, so I looked at all of them. Scrollers: Bonus treat at end.

Oh my pumpkin pie and whipped cream! What a cornucopia of Thanksgivings over the years. Of course it’s the cats that teach us everything we need to know about Thanksgiving. It made me consider gratitude with fresh eyes. Maybe it will do the same for you.

This is a belated Happy Thanksgiving!
Every day that I can open my eyes is a blessed day and I am thankful.
Every time I can take a breath I am thankful.
Every time I am able to eat food and drink water I am thankful.
Every time I am warm when it is cold I am thankful.
Every time I can help another being I am the most thankful of all.
Give all away and you will receive an abundance that will see you thru anything for that I am thankful and blessed and grateful forever.

    Thanksgiving:

For me every day is a new one to be thankful for, and I go to my work a few days each week, and I see peeps who seem to have the worst thrown at them…and even they are grateful for each new day…we SMILE together, and I am thankful I can have the privilege of caring for them. I have to work today…so I get a chance to tell them Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for allowing me to be part of those whom you allow to care for you…

When you have been very ill, with a guarded prognosis and yet can be healthy and strong even 14 years later, that is an immense blessing, and I am filled with thankfulness in my heart.

Happy Thanksgiving Layla! My life has changed so drastically in the last 2 years, yet somethings remain the same. Through it all, I have learned that, “It is Impossible to feel grateful and depressed at the same time.” I choose gratitude! Thank you for the links, I will savour them for my American Thanksgiving feast! Stay strong! Love Barb

I know I’m more thankful this year than last. I’m guessing it’s because we can have Thanksgiving with our loved ones when we couldn’t last year.
