Mondays With Merlin By Merlin Wilde

The photo quote is from the poem “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night” by Dylan Thomas which explores the helplessness associated with growing old and creeping toward death. “Old age should burn and rave at the close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light” . The dying light is about darkness, a metaphor for dying. I say Rage on! Screw moving towards death in a namby pamby, dare I say, pussy way? Let’s not be resigned pussies and but let’s fight our best fight, going out in a yeowling blaze of glory. Burn baby burn, with life, while we can.

I’ve been yeowling more and even enjoying the heat wave because some of us like it hot. And don’t you dare say I look like a geriatric Grumpy Cat!

I’d sing this for you if I could but John Cale does a better job.

One more thing, dear cat lover friends. I’d appreciate your vote! Pettie Award voting link
