Homemade Organic Chicken Cat Treats

Top quality organic 100% protein cat treats can be expensive but here’s our recipe to make your own healthy, kitty treats easily at home.

100% chicken. No additives, fillers, carbs or chemicals.

Cat Wisdom 101 Homemade Organic Chicken Treats

  • Take 1 lb. of fresh organic free-range boneless chicken breast and freeze until firm but not frozen (about two hours). This makes the chicken easier to cut.
  • Preheat oven to 200°F is equal to 93.33°C
  • Oil a large cookie sheet
  • With a large, sharp chef’s knife slice thin. Then cut into smaller pieces about 1 inch square
  • Place chicken pieces on baking sheet
  • Sprinkle with sea salt (about half a tsp.)
  • Bake for 2 hours or until crispy
  • Once cool, transfer to an airtight storage container.

The treats can be broken into smaller pieces if desired. These treats are healthy but not a meal replacement. Limit treats to a couple a day. While the treats are cooling, the smell will be irresistible so keep your kitties away.

P.S. Dogs love them too!

  2. Oh! Yummy!
We loves chicken jerky that Mommy makes with the dehydrator. She does it the same way but leaves the strips longer and no salt and we keeps them in the freezer.
Both me and Kozmo and the hairy slobbery sisters Bob and Cinnamon love them.

  12. hmmm… maybe the Daddy will like this option better than the way I sit giving him laser eyes anytime he eats chick-hen. Mom thinks it might work with salmon too, but might be hard to get really thin. We will knock the dehydrator box off the shelf so maybe they will get the clue and try some this weekend.

Layla, I think I would just have to eat it myself. We make French Fries that way. Fried chicken and French Fries. I’m hungry.

I had to raise those smelly beasts, chickens, growing up and people keep saying “free range”. They can have a small yard for strutting &pecking, but you need to get them inside the henhouse as soon as it rains or they put their beaks to the sky and will drown themselves. I solemnly swear this is true. I know today they are raised very inhumanely.
