Depictions of cats have graced containers of candy and chocolate since Victorian times and every decade since…
from a charming European biscuit tin,
a whimsical chocolate box…
to something a little more modern. Yes, these crazy cat lady candies are real. Maybe I should pick some up for the next Cat Writer’s Association conference. But truthfully, I prefer the vintage containers. How about you?

Definitely Vintage
Without a doubt, the vintage ones are our favorites! And chocolate is too. How could anyone go wrong with cats & chocolate, especially if its dark?

Our mom has a couple of the vintage tins. We think she needs that modern one for her collection!

we actually own the “Crazy Cat Lady” board game, which I think is illustrated by the same person who did the candies. not very dignified is it? well, neither is the game, but it’s still fun.
still, nothing bets vintage kitties, with hats. and waistcoats. never get enough of that…

The tins are so pretty. Much better than the boring looking boxes that most sweets and chocolates come in now.

I vote vintage, and shun the modern because I feel discriminated against… I mean really a GREEN cat? Don’t you think Orange(with stripes) would have been more appropriate ????

OMG! I love those tins!
The vintage rins are adorable! I was wondering though, where can I find the crazy catlady candy? I think it’s kind of neat.
The vintage ones are so beautiful!

But the modern ones will be vintage one day too

My human totally prefers the vintage tins too. And she (and I) hate the whole crazy cat lady stereotype. If we could figure out a way to banish it forever… we would!!

Is that a picture of you, Sparkle? You are beautiful. Are you a Somali? (Mungojerrie and Rumpleteaser want to know. You could be cousins. But they are Abyssinians.)
Yes, that is me! And yes, I am a Somali… and if you go back far enough in my ancestry, you can actually locate some Abys and trace them up to Abys that are around today. An Aby-owned human I know actually did the genealogy!
