Caturday On Friday & Other Surprises

If you love cats, sharing makes us purrrr :-)

We have big news and mews!

  • The Bengal cat we found was reunited with his owner on Wednesday night under unusual circumstances. Please visit us tomorrow in lieu of our usual Cat Saturday for the whole story in an extended post on my hand’s on experience with intuitive animal communication.

  • Avast Mateys! Monday, September 19th is Meow Like A Pirate Day. Cat bloggers will be posting pics of their favorite kitty as a pirate. It’s good silly fun and what cat doesn’t want a parrot on their shoulder?
  • The winner of our contest for a “make me a pirate” photo-edit contest is Milo and Alfie from Devon England. But we had so much fun, we decided to add two more winners…

Please visit our blogroll to visit them.

Breaking news: I’m delighted to report in this addendum that for the first time all the indoor cats slept together on the human’s bed. Not for long since Gris Gris low-growled his displeasure of Ling Ling but it’s huge that she even snuggled on my chest in bed with Merlin not raising an eyebrow. And the on going spat between Merlin and Odin of the past few months has mellowed. Domino is coming indoors to have dinner now that the evenings are turning cooler. Ling Ling likes to venture on the porch for brief interludes and Domino is smitten. Ling Ling, the diva ignored him. Here are some quick snaps taken at high noon on this crisp sunny day. It’s worst time for photographing pets because the harsh light washes out details, but I wanted to share the latest.

This pic of Merlin was so blown out (photography term where there is a loss of detail and the area looks white), but I like the contrast showing his whiskers so I turned it into sepia tone and it saved the day.
