Look what came in the mail! As a long time book reviewer, I’m used to having publishers send me new books but it’s a special thrill when you know the author and are rooting for their success. Unwrapping Jackson Galaxy’s book Cat Daddy felt like Christmas in July. Jackson has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the past year as a cat behaviorist thanks to the success of his TV show, My Cat from Hell on Animal Planet. I’d already read and reviewed the paperback ARC (advance reader copy) and was anxious to see the final product. It did not disappoint. Hard cover with embossed lettering on the glossy dust jacket; it has a nice feel, not too big, not too small. My image is low res as a teaser. You’ll just have to buy the book to see the details. The best part was seeing a photo of Benny, Jackson’s cat and inspiration for the book on inside rear cover flap.
Books usually come with a press release but we got the whole enchilada: Book tour dates, a Q & A, blurbs, bio etc. The publisher, Tarcher/Penguin is showing mega support for Jackson and we should too. There’s still time to take advantage of the publisher’s offer to donate $1.00 to cat shelters for every pre-order the book before the release date of May 10. Jackson and I chatted the other day about life and sorry, the best stuff is off the record, but just know that season three of My Cat From Hell is going to be a hell of a ride and he’ll be driving another fab, vintage car that would not be out of place on Mad Men.

I read the book it was fantastic! But i would love to have my own copy to reread as often as i like. His show is really excellent and i enjoy it very much.
